OK, you ID'd another problem, but not a biggie. Metal joints will be way better than plastic ones. They should absorb the increased torque on the shafts!
Shame it was a scorcher for the 'sea trials' but lots of plus's from today. You must be really pleased.Comment

exceptin for them jionts so gonna have a look on ebay to see if i can buy some metal ones as yes im wowed by the sheer power of them motors an the thrust of them props WOW an will take a pic of that joint that broke down later as tiger is still in the car in the garage WHAT A DAY WOW

The shaft actually ripped THE main bearing from its housing. The annoying part, (other than the terrible vibration), we had just come out of Gibraltar after a 3 month maintenance period were she was in dry dock having all our gubbins looked at!!
We could actually achieve 2 knots under our own propulsion. Skipper refused assistance but had no option in having an ocean going tug as escort in case of bad weather.
The shaft damage was deemed so bad she never went to sea again.Comment
