AN after a half an hr of running the meter show that the batt is now showing just how much power the ships sytems used in half an hr of running as at the start was dead on 13 v now shown 12. 87 so not even used a volt which is how it should be
so hope my probs are behind me but ive still got to add the servo to pwer the gun turrests an the workin helo

HI Bob m8ty well i hope i have sorted it but with eletrics in a big model like this you never know whats gonna happen an how they will act as when i do eventually get it in the car an goin up the pond well all the rds are so bad any number of bumps may dislodge something an when i get to the pond it may not work as thats what happen to my NIMITZ my boaty m8 asked me if he could take nimitz right up to glassgow model show as rex an some of them had seen it on our other foum so away rex an mandy took it an they was goin up there for a wks holl

an the ship was bein bounced about goin all over the lake districk but when at the wks end he took it into the warship model show it would not go an rex got some bits to go but not the motors as the guys up there wanted to see her sail but no joy so they were dissapointed but when rex brought her back down her i found the problem in a hr or so some how all that bumping about that some of the main power wires had broken but under shrink rap they could not be seen by rex so he was also dissapointed but she got firts prize trophy for best visiting model out of quite a few boats so all not lost

HI John well thanks for the nice comments but regards the guns turrets well at the moment im not even sure i can build them but will try in 1-mm thick plasticard an yes ive got the ideas in my head on how i want to build them to have them them yes turn as i have a new servo morph to turn the turrets slowly an hopefuly the guns will elevate by havin a cam outside on the deck an as the turret an as the turret turns the guns will be fixed to a rod with a hinge in it so as the turret turns it will force the rod up the cam to a high point at the end of travel an they should be fully elevated then as the turrest turn back to forward there will be a spring fitted to the gun barrel bar


that will pull the guns back down an ive done this idea on my hms york gun an it worked well as yes ive left number .2 sockect on the R/X to plug in the lead to power the guns turrets an im hopeing to power both turrets off one micro servo but how that will work i at the moment have only a few vauge ideas till i get to that stage as at the moment ive got to rework one of the mini fans on the man S/S AN TAKE it out to set in front of the power reducer to keep it cool as last night it was just warm to touch so thats tomorrow work laid out

Chris, a bit late for this build, but a tip for you in the future. When soldering wires together, don't 'tin' both and then solder together, but interleaf the strands together, twist and solder the pair at the same time, it makes a far stronger join which is less prone to break apart. If joining a wire into the middle of a longer length, carefully cut the insulation and peel away then push the joining end strands through the strands, twist and solder. Obviously, putting shrink wrap on where needed.

HI Gerry yes that a good idea trouble is its very hard to do on some short wires that are in a tight space in the hull as the wires wont just push into one an other as they have a tendency to branch open an with pliyes ive treid nippin them up an not very much of a success but thank you for your idea

I had a picture in my mind Chris that your model room was like the scene in Apollo 13 where the guys are trying to work out how to bring the systems online with limited power available.....
