    Minicraft 1\350 RMS Titanic

This is one that I have never done from the start as all the others I have done have been all been started in some way.
A nice kit and apparently the best one out there and it does have the five porthole arrangement on the port side on the bow.
Here's what is in the box.
I could show all the spures but I would be there for a long time as there is so much.Click image for larger version

    Wow Peter,

That does look like a whole lot of parts. I see the hull is molded in black plastic too. What is the gold pieces sprue for?

Looks like you have your work cut out for you. I'll watch if you don't mind...

    Prost

They are parts for the stand and the stand nameplate.

          Thanks Guys,

I had thought that too, but I wasn't sure. I'm not too hip on big boat kits I'm afraid. Gonna be a big one for sure!

              Peter,
Very sorry to be negative about the model moulding - but that plating doesn't look good - more like wooden planking than rivetted steel. At 1/350, it should be pretty flush. Short of sanding it all off & rescribing, I don't there is an easy way to remedy this. :worried:

It's probably down to moulds they have been around for a bit I think they started out as company called entex industries then Anmark then they went to academy and finally minicraft.

It is a great size and does have some superb detail, as pointed out the hull plating is a let down on a model this size-as pointed by Peter, the moulds are not great.

Now to the model, nice paintwork mate, nice lines on the black and the antifoul. You and Titanic/Olympic models do seem to be drawn together. I am sure this will another of your top builds on this genre.

I have just been on scalemates and have traced this kit back to 1976 when it was Entex industries and I have a reboxing of this original kit even though it's dated 1997 hence the poor quality moulding.

Yeah, I was wondering that it was rebox. Still, I know you will make a cracking finished model.

Started on the cabin walls and vents and a couple of benches plus a piece of decking added.
All the vents will have to be drilled out as they come flat.Click image for larger version

Wow Peter, you are really moving along on this puppy. Looks good too! I was wondering what all the loose cords were for and then your last two pictures answered my question. I never knew the stacks had cable supports...
