Only two more bulkheads to go, after all the bulkheads glued in place I found an easy way to on how, I decided to glue the side panels in first, wow it worked , I am not sure if I will rebuild the bow, will have a go at fixing it, the starboard side didn't turn out so well .

It is great the main construction is coming to an end after starting planning 2015, will count up haw many bulkheads I glued in place, with one sheet of cardboard can get two bulkheads, I still have to glue on the double side hull panels, then the model will look like Corona Sea .

First pic the two side panels in place

Last pic the bulkhead in place, I wish I started on the RC version so much work, then I had the issue what to use and cutting out the bulkheads out of ply .

She will still make a stunning model out of card even though it is a water line model, I could use fibre glass on the second hull.

Very happy indeed , Tony from down underComment

HI TONY if you do build a R/C vershion of your ship if i was you use 1/32 nd ply as if its to thick a ply the hull will be very heavy to lift when yourve built itOnly two more bulkheads to go, after all the bulkheads glued in place I found an easy way to on how, I decided to glue the side panels in first, wow it worked , I am not sure if I will rebuild the bow, will have a go at fixing it, the starboard side didn't turn out so well .

Hi Chris, how thick is 1/32nd ply 2 mm, I was thinking 3mm thick ply for the bulkheads, a lot of work cutting out with a jig saw, then cut in for side framing.

Many thanks, no work on the Corona Sea tonight, getting late only cut out one bulkhead, want to do the two in one hit .

Today I made up the first northern end point mock up to see how the points will go, quite happy, very windy hear , worse in the afternoon didn't go outside, this morning before the wind started up< I sprayed the grass where the gravel be going, ordering the gravel Tuesday.

 How is the Tiger going.

We could be in lock down in Ipswich have 6 new cares linked to a youth centre here, if it gets worse we wont be going any where, a club meeting on Tuesday I am not going and have to miss out in my mums birthday dinner Monday, too risky going and giving it to her she is 87 .

 Take care TonyComment

Tony , I have to admire to sheer determination to build something like this from scratch. I'm confused enough with a kit and vague instructions !Comment

Now this saterday ive got to fit in the hulls about nr about 70 port holes as the rest will go in the super struckture so a bit of a nerve rackin time comin on sat

Hi Chris, breaking news I glued in place last night the 30th bulkhead , dating back to the beginning 2nd September 2017, I thought it was earlier than that , very happy to it in place, the big ceremony will be today gluing the last hull panel in, then the fun begins with the final 2 mm thick side panels, will be cut to the length of each section.HI Tony well apart from building an paint spraying the masts now done ive had to put finishing off the masts till later as while its warm wheather ive had to go back to finishing off the hulls so ive been paint spraying both the hulls in their top coats paint so it give a nice hard finish of top grey an top red . Thank goodness my ship doesn't have any port holes as such only rope windows, I will look at the bow and try to fit it getting it right , now I know the height measurements of the white and blue lines meet be interesting if it lines up with the port side.

I have a couple of update pics of the progress of the joining of the the large curve at the end of the layout, will be painting the approach module will be accessing the terminus station station platforms, 5 platforms all up.

On a high Tony from cloudy down under.Comment

I have progressed more , the second stern section hull is finely finished at long last after 3 years, I have being working on the funnel deck and funnel, is finished , still more detail and smoke stacks to glue in place.

Have now moved onto the the bridge and accommodation decks, I have made a start a year back and now glued the whole top deck and bridge deck together, will start finishing of the bow sides this weekend , wont be working on layout for a few days to I get over the skin cancer bioscopy on side of my heard .

Pic one the funnel deck only enough room for one trailer lane and containers.

Pic two the funnel end will have louvers .

Pic three the finished funnel , front join needs to be filled in.

Pic four the funnel end with the louvers hand rails and piping

Pic five the rounded funnel and funnel deck, lots of detail ahead

Pic six with blue colour hull line , pretty happy has worked out well give and take a mm

Last pic of the real ship , I plan to cut 3 mm ply for under the hull for the ship to sit on.

I am now more pic updates on the bridge progress.
