Well, I'm al caught up. (3 Hours). Well worth the time reading it all. Superb build. Excellent likeness. I can almost smell the grey paint!!!!
There was mention of a something about elephants ass or sonar unit. It is actually a towed array for long range detection of underwater contacts. Probably retro fitted during an upgrade dockyard refit. Which means whe deployed the vessel would be veeerrrrrry Sloooooow!

Digressing. Yup, agree with everyone. Brilliant job - more so considering you hadn't had a crack previously!! As they say in the RN. BZ (Bravo Zulu - well done!)

Bravo Zulu? - a most under-used coding in the Andrew - normally reserved for us and our ilk , and frequently used if I may make so bold (as well you know!) However the build is most excellent!
                Steve!

VMT (I picked this abbreviation up from a Commander that I worked with, which I assume must be common in the RN)

Just had a look at the upgrade programme. The ‘Duke’ class were designed to be all fitted with sonar 2087, (towed array), however, at the mid life upgrade it was decided the last 5 would not install towed array. Iron Duke being one of the last five!!

Many war canoes of the same class differ, depending on refits, modifications and theatre of operations Chris.
It can be the same with aircraft.

Thanks Doug, as always each model ends up being different, which I suppose makes it all the more interesting.

Just had a look through again Garry , a build of a life time . So much time, skill and effort has gone into this.
Of course love the use of ply and the foam board, beautifully made with those intricate angles. The electrics are beyond me to comment!
As an aside Matron does take to the air but not as Chris thinks by broom ( she will have "words " with you Chris I hear ) but flies first class so can arrive much quicker than your parcels !
Great work and thoroughly enjoyable following .
