Well guy's she is finished, weathered the deck and some of the machinery decided I'm not very good at it :smiling3: so I'm going to leave as is so I don't screw it up.
Decided not to spend 25 quid on a book I'll look at only once so if I do any rigging It will be an educated guess.
Oh yes just got to do the last half of the stbd side railings.

Looks fabulous Brian. Needs rigging now. Perhaps a way forward is to look at as many photos as you can and make your own sketches to work from.
As to the weathering, can be daunting, but is worthwhile unless you really like the factory fresh look.
I’d suggest working on something smaller and cheaper to start with. I’d also suggest working with slow drying or reversible materials like oil paint, enamels, or pastel chalks in the first instance. That way you can usually get them off and start again without having to repaint the whole model.Comment

Excellent job Brian, looks great :thumb2: rigging you can just add what looks good to you. I agree with Tim on the weathering,it can really add to the finished model, a cheapy practice mule is a good shout and as a suggestion the hobbyboss 1/350 pola is under 15 quid, perfect for the job.Comment

Excellent model, Brian. Very nice indeed.
Personally, I wouldn't bother with the 'Real' rigging. Have you seen it yet? :cold-sweat: I would be content to do enough to make it look like rigging and obtain a result you are happy with. It's your model......
I use eezeline for the rigging. It has plenty of of stretch, but can bend masts etc. if you don't keep an eye on the stuff.
The rigging can be a pain. A good tip passed on to me was to try and keep the rigging in one piece as much as you can. Glue at a point and then up, down, along, whatever, tacking as you go. This way you only have one end to contend with. It takes a bit of planning and I hope yer folla!
Crane cables and life raft lashings will be a doddle after. :thumb2:Comment
