You definitely have to be computer savvy and also mechanically minded - it takes a long time to print models the hull of my 1/250 USS St Louis took the best part of 50 hours to print ( in 5 sections ). That's with the complete files downloaded for free! I'm not looking to do any printing to order, this is strictly a hobby project. You can buy top of the range machines that simplify the printing, but you still have to get, or make the files for the printer. If you have the area for it, the resin printers are the way to go, but the fumes/chemicals/clean up mean that it's not feasible in my mid-floor flat.Hi Dave
Looks interesting, but I think I may have exhausted my patience with1/700 after this latest build. However!!! You mentioning dabbling with 3D printing, would you be up for printing to order!!! Know Zip about this process but plan to get up to speed on it. How complex is it?

Loads of how-to videos on YouTube, but it's not something you should rush into! Above all, it takes time - I'm retired, so that's not an issue, but you can spend hours tinkering & tweaking your printer, there are so many settings & variables to work out & consequent c**k ups before you can even produce a print you're happy with!
