We have one out here in western canada too, also the International Plastic Modellers Society. Which I want to petition them to change their title to "International Society of Plastic Modellers", because in the first version it's the "PMS" part that jumps out at me. By scrambling the letters, it's less likely to produce childish giggling. (i think). -

I think you need to be either an exceptionally good modeller or the only entrant in your chosen class to win at my local IPMS. The military vehicles class is very very high quality, likewise the 1/72 and smaller aircraft. But it's great to see the work of others......and we have a bar.On the bench: Airfix 1/48 Sea King HC4, Revell 1/24 Trabant.
Coming soon: Airfix 1/72 Phantom FGR2.
Just finished: Airfix 1/48 Stuka & Airfix 1/72 Sea King HC4.Comment

Am I still right in thinking the IPMS still only allow the use of plastic? So any other medium is not allowed? If this is the case it is what would put me off. I enjoy modeling in any way I see fit and not to comply with a set of rules and I think as such media as PE becomes more and more widely used they need to move with the times a bit quicker.Comment
