I think I saw someone cut fragile sprues like that with a heated knife, that way there's no presure on the vertical stabilizer, you melt it through as far to the right side as you can, then afterwards cut the last bit of the tail with a sprue-cutter. Goodluck, the planes are looking good

Perhaps the soldering iron was a bit too hot? A dremel tool could also work, with a very small/thin grinding disk if you have that. Or some other very small grinding bit.

HI GUYS well ive done one wild cat an fitted the decals an yes more probs the bloomin decals are pulling the trick on me of splintering AAAAAARRRRCCCCHHHHHHHHHHHHH

AN i would have liked to have painted the white undercart an the centre hubs on the wheels but ive not got a brush small enough so they will have to stay black oh dear

Not sure how big those wheels are Chris but if you have some round sprue or a cocktail stick, cut the cocktail stick back until you reach the diameter that you want for the wheel hub, then just dip the cocktail stick in some white paint and dab it on the wheel. That might work.

WELL Steve in the end i used a needle dipped in the white paint the just dopped it into the wheel hubs not brilliant but will do for me SO guys after a lot of curseing an swearing i manged to get 4 wildcats built ok as jen heard me cussing an came up an told me off saying we dont use languge like that in this house as i was very angry as one of the undercart legs just dropped off the plane onto the carpet montster an i spent a whole hr looking for it an found it an picked it up in the tweezzers only for it to go pinnging off in to space proberly near pluto by now lol so that plane will be in the hangar where it cant be seen very well so now for some pics

SO next up is the SBD 3 i dont know if its the deverstater or the dauntless only hope it will build better than the wild cats

SBD is the Dauntless Chris. SBD stands for Scout Bomber Douglas.

HI Steve yes will take a pic of the plane near a humbroll paint tin an here a wild cat next to the paint pot an a dauntless now in the build stage in clear plastic

YES they are Steve an bein clear plastic an tiny its a job to see where a problem is when they dont fit as im again finding on them dauntless planes an if i get the shakes then i pack up an have a cuppa but trouble is the prob is still there when i return OH BOY an ive just built two planes today an they are not compleate as still have to paint them an fit canopy an prop an a pic of the two i built today till my nervers got the better of me an lilley near had the model on the floor as she jumped up onto my table an near had the carrier off just as well i was there to catch it before it got smashed she is now banned from my model room
