Yes that's right I have put myself on a self enforced diet it's been I month without chocolate, cakes or any sweets and as a consequence in one month I have already dropped a clothes size from XL to a large it's a good job to as the results of my last blood test I was borderline diabetic and now I don't miss the bad stuff and this morning I ran up the stairs in work and didn't sound like Darth Vader at the top.

Peter,
keep at it! I didn't manage to avoid the all too common diabetes - I've had 20 years of daily blood tests, and injecting insulin - you can live with it, but it's something you have to consider whatever you do, and ignore/forget at you peril.
Long hours, stress & a poor diet all contributed - something I have had years to regret.............

Type 2 for me, diagnosed about three years a go and a bit of a pain having to watch your diet all the time. Medication plays havoc with the digestive system as well. Good luck Peter - you're doing the right thing.

Keep up the good work Peter, nothing more important than ones health especially once one starts to get on a bit in years
I'm in my mid 60s and all my blood tests are geat! Low cholesterol, no signs of diabetes, perfect blood pressure.
Liver function great, and a few other things that I can't think of right now but all aces.

Quit smoking Years ago but a bout of walking pneumonia that I didn't even know I had a few years back has damaged my lungs and left me with this damned COPD:angry:
Thought it would get the best of me at one time but the Veterans Admin docs have got me on some awesome meds, a few puffs a day and I feel great.
Some days are better than others but all in all...I can't complain.

One thing though, my two COPD meds cost nearly a thousand dollars a month! :flushed: but because of my Veteran status I pay ZERO! ;)

Hi Peter
Good for you. There's none of us getting any younger and as my doctor once said "You don't see many obese 90 year olds" :smiling:

Today I did the ultimate I had a plain Terry's chocolate orange I got myself for Christmas and along with my mum's big box of black magic I gave them to my local charity shop for the staff as I now have no interest in chocolate any more.

Giving away a plain choccie orange shows you are taking this really seriously.
