mate, as an aussie, I find that hilarious. To think that a bear would just rock into your garden, have a go at the bird feeder and leave..... :D

Happens several times a year, he's heading back to the woods, a few hundred square miles of them

haha, :D ,I do like that, and how good of the woofer  to let him have some grains, :D

the dog knows when he is out matched,or the bear knows he is sleeping, how good is that,

like on the news when they show, them swimming or just taking over peoples yards, 9_9

I'd rather a bear than some of the items of Mother Nature's arsenal you lot have to contend with!

true, I have stepped on a snake once, and it was a deadly type.

I have also seen a kangaroo on our road once

My favourite animal.  What a privilege to have one visit your garden.

What fantastic pics. :D

Things that appear in our garden always seems to be other people's litter.

Cute.....only if you insist. O.o

I guess you have to be use to that kind of visitor or otherwise the next stage of his life would be as a throw rug in front of the fire place..... ^_^

not a nuisance?

They can be at times if one is not careful with the trash, must keep it locked in barn or shed until pick up. They are nothing to fool with though, one wouldn't want to be caught between mom and her cubbies as can easily happen at times. You'll hear her huffing and puffing and chomping her jaws ...if your lucky...then it's time to beat feet, hopefully in the right direction :/  There's been a real explosion in their population in the past few years along with deer, elk, moose, feral hogs (more dangerous than bears) and just about every other wild animal it seems. Just not enough hunters to keep them in check even though there has been a huge increase in predators such as coyotes, wolves, wolverines and mountain lions.

The mountain lions are the most dangerous though for you will never know they are there and you won't hear them until it's to late. So unless one is actually hunting it is best to make a racket, that takes them off their stalk and confuses them a bit as all prey animals try their best to be as quiet as possible.

One must always pack a bit of heat when venturing too far off the beaten trail....I like this one ;)  .357 magnum, can split an 8 cylinder engine block in half with no trouble ^_^

guess you need a bit of safety when you go out (I would do that as well), but I sort of blanched (as an australian) when my US buddies showed me their hunting gear- A Heckler and Koch Mr 762 assault rifle and a few hunting rifles coupled with an AR 15  O.o

he was probably looking to see if Goldie locks lived there to get some porridge a comfy chair and a nap, then realised bloody hell iam at the wrong house.

Now you see round here we have bagheads and layabouts there more the average bear and we are not aloud to carry fire arms.

There seems to be what I call "intentional mis-nomenclature" when it comes to so called "assault rifles" NO ONE in the U.S. can actually buy a real assault rifle, the description of which is a weapon that can fire in the fully automatic and semi automatic ranges. ONLY semi auto rifles are sold in this country so their convenient use of the term assault rifle or weapons of war are completely bogus. After being called out on this point many times some media outlets have modified it a bit calling them assault "style" rifles hoping the ill informed anti second amendment crowd or anyone else for that matter won't catch on.

There are many other semi auto rifles on the market that are "styled" after regular hunting rifles, just as powerful and just as deadly, will they try to ban them next?

As happens every time after one of these horrific acts and the following anti gun political diatribe, gun sales go through the roof as is predictably happening at this very moment, one particular gun shop owner stated that just previous to the Orlando terror attack they sold on average about 3 or 4 AR15s a day, since the attack?....5 or 6 AN HOUR! until his stock was completely depleted. Back orders are stacked to the ceiling and the factories can't build them fast enough.

Obama has been given an award by the Firearms mfg.association for being the best gun sales rep in American history ^_^

Just keep a good "knobber " by the door and hope for the best, after all the govt. knows best when it comes to your safety. They all have armed security and couldn't give a blinking hell about you or yours. Come to America, we'll hook you up big time ^_^
