UPDATE.

I have given it too washes and a stipple coat of black and brown, there is still more to do. I also have painted the inner hatches, these will then be weathered. Tracks have had a two coats of metallic steel and will be weathered. I have also started on the wheels-these take ages and I have to sand and scrape the paint off-did try using a mask but it didn't work too well.

great work ,Si,liking how this is looking, well done so far,;)

I tried to go for that hot metal look on the covers, if you look you can see a blue orange tinge, the rest isn't rust but the a brown/red of the under coat showing through-has it worked...sort of, best I could do anyway.

Glad you like it so far. have done the other wheels, just got to start sanding and scrapping...Oh joy.

I do use the German red/brown,a lot and quite offend people mistake it for rust as well,so know what you mean,;)

Just caught up with this, this is looking sweet your client is going to love it.

I'm really liking the damage look you are giving the model . I'm about to start the 1/16 panza 1v , your giving me a whole new perspective on the subject , hope you don't mind if I pinch a few idea's of yours si
