York is great with 2 really good model shops unlike where I stay there's nothing within 20 miles. Can't sit long so doing research on my iPad for upcoming builds.

Monkbar models and p&s hobbies? There is also cutty blacks just down the road from p&s hobbies but I'm not too familiar with that store
 
Update on what I'm doing (was) after my disatirous weekend now no I've broke my toe and fractured my tailbone so sitting modelling will be impossible for a few days more chance to increase the stash

Broken toe is one thing - and annoying enough, but a fractured tailbone is 10x worse...
Did that many years ago and damn it was painful! I had to take a hefty dose of morphine every time I went to the toilet... :confused:

Don't watch any comedies on TV either because laughing is probably even worse than the toilet business!

You have my sympathy for sure! Take care, don't move around too much and make sure you've got adequate pain killers!

I'm still in trench warfare and it's going at a snails pace because of the slow drying times...
I've also debated if I'm going to glue the Mk.IV to the base or have it loose on the vignette and do precise mud and dirt so it slots in or not?
I'm more than pleased with my Mk.IV but the vignette isn't exactly there yet so I'm scared to glue it down...

Between drying I started building a Dragon StuG III yesterday but my eyes didn't agree so it turned out to be a short session.
I'm also a bit annoyed with Dragon how they package the sprues because there were A LOT of loose pieces in the bags and I had to repair 7 road wheels before I could even start!
I've collected all the loose bits and I hope I've got them all, but it's a shame because Dragon used to be the top of the line with regards to detail and now they seem to have gone down the cheapo route... :(

I might just stop doing Dragon kits after this because others are equally well made - and they've wrapped the sprues with foam to protect all the fragile parts!

I also need to build a new, bigger, area for modelling because I've run out of space. I need bigger desk area but also more shelves and storage.
I get the IKEA delivery tomorrow with my four DETOLF display cabinets and they will sort out some of the storage problems, but this "little" hobby takes more space than I initially thought. ;)
 
Hobbies always take more space than you think, they have a tendency to expand to fit the available space (and beyond).

The use of Lego was impromptu, normally that Lego construction is used to hold all the small pieces stuck to cocktail sticks for painting.

But I am going to use Lego to build a more permanent adjustable cradle for aircraft with some foam, probably an off cut of pipe insulation, to soften the edge.

my first thought was why is he armed with a flintlock pistol then realised its a cut down bloop tube :oops:

the scar is moulded nicely :cool:

Yep its a cut down MK79 Grenade launcher, known as a pirate gun and used by special forces including Navy SEALS and DEVGRU.
