I've started work on the Jagdpanther, Hetzer and a Stug III so I will apologise to all the German tank builders especially to Mr Stug.

First is the Jagdpanther I've built the lower hull and running gear.



Added some missing details.

Next up is the Hetzer.

Removed moulded nuts from tyres and made new onee and fitted to rim, drilled missing holes
to F/R wheels.

Hi got some more done today, cleaned up all the resin parts for all three tanks and managed to fit the top hulls to the lower hulls plus barrels and exhaust.

Sorry it's me again, upgraded all three tanks and are now all broken down ready for paint.

The black dots you can see is plasticard coloured black with a felt pen so I can see them.

Hi as the paint shop is going to be a bit busy for sometime I'll be stating my next attempt.

Sherman M4 tank fitted with T1E3 Aunt Jemima Mine Roller.



T1E3 Aunt Jemima Mine Roller conversion kit I' already removed most of the carsting blocks.


The T1E3 Aunt Jemima utilised the pressure type system in the form of two rollers each made up of five large metal discs. Propelled along by a Sherman tank, the system was nicknamed after a famous pre-made pancake mix (Aunt Jemima’s) as the discs were said to resemble large pancakes. The size of each disc; 10cm wide and 2.46m in height meant their massive weight (26,000kg total) provided the necessary ground pressure to detonate any mines it encountered.
While it performed well during testing, once in the field the system proved difficult to manoeuvre especially when it came to making a U-turn. The weight of the roller also meant the system was prone to bogging down once any form of soft terrain was encountered.


Mine exploder T1E3 (Aunt Jemima) attached in a M4A1 Sherman.
The image insert is the famous pancake. Notice the paint in the M4A1 side






T1E3 stuck...a common problem.

The roller chains from the Sherman sprockets drove the loosely mounted discs; the spacers were arranged and grooved to allow the discs to move.



From all photos I've seen, the T1E3s with M4s used the Baldwin manufactured M4s -- characterized by a vertical rear bulkhead.
