Another order received from Creative Models discounted kits section

I don't know how they do it - ordered yesterday morning, parcel delivered today. Can't fault service like that

this is a cracking kit for £30 from the damaged box section - separate track links, four or five frets of etch and very nice looking mouldings. There was no picture of this on the site and it didn't say it was a late version so it was a (nice) surprise when I opened the parcel

this is the damage - a slight crease in one corner

another box of cans - well at almost half price it would be rude not to

another nice looking Hobbyboss kit
Simon the last one the BA 20 Think I built that a little while ago with a snow scene , was a great build. Will check in the morning .

Jim - it will need to be considerably more than 150!

John - that’s a right pile of Friuls you got there.
Nice French A/C - very kind of Mike. That last one is Chinese - PLA is People’s Liberation Army. Looks like it may be derived from the T72 though
Yes buying in bulk is the way, might as well get them for each kit in the stash, those normal links are not for me, far too stressful.
Think you must be one of Creatives best customers, you'll have a trade account at this rate :smiling: Realized that there were Chinese buildings in the background after I had posted. Thought it might have been fully Russian or a Chinese copy of the style.
John,
the ICM Panhard is a lovely little model, highly detailed, full interior - I made one a few yeara ago ( no crew with mine ). I have the Zvezda Gaz 'Kornet' in the stash & I was looking at it yesterday! Some nice details - both of them would be improved if they included PE....................
Dave
That's good to know Dave, thank you. Hope I can do it justice then .

An ebay delivery from postie
A basic Vogager PE & resin detail set for my Trumpeter BMP-3
bmp-3 voyager.jpg
I can see that some of the smaller items won't be used!

A few years ago, I vowed never to touch another Panda model, but I simply could not resist this - the Russians produce some scary AA systems, the TOR missile can allegedly intercept falling bombs............. ( there are some impressive videos on YouTube )panda tor.jpg

Needless to say, I got these at a large discount!
Dave

I've got a woooohoooo and a 'T'
Here is the 'T' added to the stash, and already have a valentine or Crusader to go on the back...

And here is the brass for the Wooohooo (train whistle noises, you can all join in if you wish)

And of course the beast itself....

When this kit was first released I promised myself I would build one, but they were always sold out, so this one has finally made it into the stash for a build next year.
Mike.

Following that thread I ordered his diorama book. Hopefully it'll get here soon.
That’s the one I’m still waiting for too (I forgot to mention that in the other post somehow).

So! you have decided to take up modelling - welcome to the club :smiling4:.
Thanks, it looks like it’s a hobby I’ll be able to stick with for a couple of years at least … :)

These in their day were considered to be the be all and end all for modellers along with the Verlinden books, and even today you can still pick up a pointer here and there from them..
One of my most treasured modelling books 30 or so years ago was The Verlinden Way volume II, and though I also own a later issue, by then it had become more of a lengthy advert for his own products. I’ve been reading the first few chapters of the Shep Paine book this afternoon, and though so far I’ve not seen anything I didn’t already know, it’s still a good read and a useful refresher, really. Not to mention I would certainly recommend it to people new to modelling today.

Also funny to read lines written 37 years ago that sound oddly familiar, like:—
Today, we armor modelers are blessed with an abundance of precisely detailed kits beyond the wildest dreams of the struggling enthusiasts of those lean years [about 20 years ago]

this birthday keeps on giving lol

Hi all

So the better half and I had a day to ourselves yesterday even though the kids are off for half term and so we went to the National Trust property at Hughenden.

Whilst she was in the shop I had a look in the second-hand book shop they have and picked this up for the princely sum of £1 - and it looks like it's never even been read!

It's a part of the war I know absolutely no nothing about and so have started reading it already!

Andrew,
A lot of people just associate the war in the desert, mid East as that which is well covered now, but there were little wars being fought all over the north East of Africa and in the Middle East. A look at the RR armoured car history can shed some light on that for you. I have a book somewhere which was written by someone that drove the RR in the Mid East as well as Africa.

A good look at the larger sandbags of the period. PaulE
