Guys,
I'm in Torquay this week..(enjoying the English Riviera to it's fullest) and whilst driving around I've spotted a model shop called Action Model Centre, has anybody been here before ?
there's not much info about it on the web and I wondered if it's worth dropping in to splash some cash ?

If it's a model shop, then of course it's worth dropping in!

If you`re visiting Torquay Chris then i presume you went Past/Via Newton Abbot :thumb2: ......
That being the case,(and i can`t comment on Torbay`s model shops),I`d recommend "Bekra Models" in Newton.... They are a family run, cracking little shop,(Also my Local one:hugging-face:),it`d certainly be worth a look if you want to make the time;).
It`s just up the road from the train station.....
If you`d like a "Pin Drop" just let me know.... It`s well worth a visit!

LOL, I've been in Newton Abbot this afternoon, didn't know about Bekra Models until I googled model shops near me earlier (..lol), Mrs L has just been told....read that as begged..(whilst I cowered meekly i might add) we may need another trip that way tomorrow, I'm sure there's a tea shop nearby i can treat her to afterwards.

Although I have spotted In Torquay harbour, the actual Embarkation Ramps used to load the US soldier onto their landing crafts prior to the journey to Omaha and Utah Beaches on D-Day,... A totally sobering site to realise that for many young men this would be the last journey they would ever take.IMG_6862.jpg

I agree on the pastie front - unlike Ivor's brother - he would hotly contest that statement! :smiling5:

@The Smythe Meister, Apologies that i didn't get around to meeting up today, (bumped into Mr L's ex brother-in-law and ended up spending the afternoon at his place near Bickley Mill Inn..), more pints of that funny cider stuff.... :tongue-out3: :tongue-out3: :tongue-out3: :tongue-out3: :tongue-out3: :upside::upside::upside::upside::thumb2:

On a plus note... popped into Action Model Centre and dropped a wedge on the Academy 1/35 'U.S. Army M1A2 TUSKII,

it looks awfully nice and complex enough to keep me busy for a few weeks... (still need to finish my M6 magach first, and the Spitfire GB...)
