Looks great sitting in that pool Garry .
Hope that parcel turns up soon
Thanks John
I'm pleased to advise that the errant parcel has actually arrived :smiling:, it only took 5 months from order being placed, and 3 months from posting, I reckon that must be a record of some sort.
It is certainly a record for my patience
Fortunately I ordered these things a long time before I thought I would need them, so I had plenty to get on with, and it stopped me from rushing the build, there you go, a positive outlook.
Now we have a short holiday to keep my other half happy, and then onward and upward.

Well after a short holiday I'm back.
To make you all jealous........ having fish and chips at the harbour in Nelson as the sun goes down, with my better half Sharon.

So now a little building progress, I have managed to get the decals on, the cranes made, the RIB's painted and loaded, and a bunch of the small bits fitted.
I'm reasonably happy with the result, still a lot to do however, and plenty of touching up.

Thanks Rick, It was great weather in Nelson and the fish and chips is something we always get at the same place every time we are there. We caught the last of the good weather fortunately.

Thank you so much Chris, it means a lot coming from you, I still have a long way to go to get to your level mate. I'm dreading the hand rails I have the PE ones and will have to be very careful with them they are so fragile.
The electrics are pretty much done to the stage I had planned, but I may decide to add more in time, I haven't yet decided.
Yes the helo will be a Lynx, which has arrived but not yet started
Your Tiger crew look amazing well done, looking forward to seeing her on the wet stuff.
You are into spring now so your weather should improve, we are into autumn, and it's cold and raining today.

I preferred the look of the Lynx, and it matches the 1/32 Lynx that I built las year, which had the Iron Duke name on the nose.
Yes, I am planning on fixing the Lynx to the deck as well, so it will be on show when I sail her.

Evening Noah Garry,

Sorry I have missed you and have not commented on your build for a while. I always seem to be in the wrong time zone. I have had a good ketchup and am totally amazed at what you've accomplished so far Sir. Most excellent scratch work and painting all around! I love your test ocean in the backyard the most. Float test the boat and when it gets too hot, you can jump in it too, to cool off. I guess your weather is changing into fall now and getting cooler. Heli looks nice and will be a great addition to the deck. Do you have an idea when she will hit the real water for her trials?

Once again, I apologize for my tardiness and will set my clock to your time zone and try to keep up. Hope all is well down under and please keep up the fantastic work Noah Garry!!!

Prost
Allen

AN Exscuse me Garry but what are the hyperdermics needles for in the background ? or has Matron BEEN to visit you lol :rolling: ;):smiling2::smiling2::smiling2:

Hi Allen, thanks for your kind comments, Yes, the inflatable pool was actually for cooling off, however it was too good an opportunity to miss, so Iron Duke got tested.
You are right we are now into autumn and running at single digits celsius, so the pool has been drained, the next excursion for ID will be on the pond, which will hopefully be in a month or so.

Chris, no not matron lol, just for small measurements. Nothing sinister ;)
They were actually out for me to try and use them for applying small quantities of CA, but the needle tips were too fat, so not a success.

So far (touch wood) never had a problem with the beautifully striking Matron but - accurately applying small amounts of CA is still something of a skill yet to be mastered :disappointed2: (PS I hate PE for most applications - my Marmite substance!)

I too have had no problems with Matron, perhaps I'm too far for her to travel.
Regarding CA, the only way that I have found that works for me, is the end of a toothpick.
