AN Ian when water loadin on props you must also take the wheight of the ship into account as the props an motors are tryin to push the ship through the water medium that i cant do at home either if you see what i mean
chrisb

Fingers and everything else crossed for you Chris. I'm sure you'll find a solution.

AN Ian when i get the motors they may be a few volts out of what they should be an all that will happen is the motors will get a bit warm an i will probely fit some fans on them to cool them but should not blow any fuses as this is my main problem now im havin to use only what i can buy an not what i want an i would like these cam belt drive which i cant get now made by MFA AN THEY DONT MAKE THEM ANYMORE an yes some other firms now make them but they are really exspensive an too buy 4 well more than i want to spend an i may fit coolin fans on the motors also like in my NORFOLK an ive never had any probs so from what i can see its all to do with the parts i can only buy now an not the good parts i used to buy so its all hit an miss but i really think new motors will be best shot an i wish i could buy cam belt drives like in my norfolk motor with fans an not dereict drive how i am bein forced to use
cheers chrisb ps hope this makes sence AN BELOW MY NORFOLK MOTOR LAYOUT AN IT WORKS GREAT PPS but my tiger is twice the wheight of my norfolk an that will also make a big different when it comes to sailing on the pond OH ITS SO DIFFICULT TO EXSPLAIN IMG_5510.JPG

I don't think the ESCs can increase the voltage Ian, so the motors will only see the battery voltage - 12V I think.

AN YES Pete i think you are right but as ive never had this trouble before i could put a volt meter accross the motor terminals when running in high speed an see what voltage is Pete what you think ?

I don't know Chris, don't those ESCs pulse the power to the motors?
Pete

well Guys went to W/W model show yesterday an boy was the day a cooker an just two ice creams at 9 quid dint buy any more but ive bought 4 motors for tiger but to me they seem a bit small as they are 540 motors an they are rated at 4.5 v up to 15v an at 12v will reve at 14'500 rpm an the chap says they should do the job of movin an sailin tiger but i have my doubts an i got a receipt from him for the motors an i can send them back for more powerfull motors as yesterday there was not a great choise of them so wil fit them an see how she goes pic of them below in their boxes below IMG_8277.JPG

Stall current of about 14 A is much lower that those Graupner motors Chris, so hopefully you won't have problems with fuses. I just hope they have enough power to get Tiger moving.

Well Chris, she's a warship not a dragster!
Pete
YES Pete i know that but i want her faster than when she first sailed as no speed no steerage an stabilizer wont give bite in the water so i need a bit of flank speed

Any one else confused by this latest update on the motors / wiring / fuses ?
Going to have lie down as this is all too much this early in the morning !

Yes John same here as never had these probs before an its all to do with the parts that i can no longer get as they have stopped makin them an im bein forced down this BECC ESC's route that i dont like its getting to much for me as well as this is about the 5 th time ive swopped the ESC an motors but untill i can find the solution ive got to keep tryin an my wallet is moaning lol
an you SIR enjoy your lay down an have some M hahah

I think if it was me in your predicament, I would have taken the motors and the ESC's and the fuses and started again with matched units. I know you are on a budget but the money you have put into this problem... you probaby would have saved a lot of money, time and effort in the end. Feel for you Chris and I hope that the motors you have got hold of do the job.
PS. for the entry price of that show and the extortionate price of the ice-creams you could have bought 4 brand new (read with Guarantee) motors and ESC's

Yes Ian im afraid you are right as the 200mls journey there an back cost 30 quid in petrol an then the 32 quid to get through the gate an the 9 quid for a ice cream an the 7 quid for a cheaseburger an then the 28 quid for the motors has shot up the price but jen an i have looked forward for months to this show as we havnt been far since before covid an we just wanted to get out of the 4 walls so all yes an exspensive day but jen enjoyed herself whatchin the planes an the firworks an bomb exsploshions so not a bad day just as well its only once a yr

Of course you could always set fire to it, like the Vikings and have a great day out at the lake. ;)
