Boatmans Super Tomcat F14D Build

Kinda what I was thinking.
Chris, is there any way you could relocate the wires and connectors 'inside' the exhaust pipes?. That would remove the bulk and perhaps allow the half's to locate properly!

There is something seriously wrong if there’s a gap that big … are you sure nothing is in the way for the fuselage halves to come together better? Perhaps the wires you added for the LEDs?
HI Jakko this gap is there because i havnt treid to pull it together yet i should not have taken this pic really as it isnt that bad my fault here as it does pull down ok as its me makin a mountain out of a mole hill the part where i was moaning about bein a bad fit was on the port side front wing section as its a mm gap so filler needed

Another short update as i dont know if my nevrers will stand much more but when jen came to the model room she was the excact oppite of me cool an calm an she said whats the problem an i told an shew her a she sorted it all out wow she should be a moddler she'wasted doin diamon art lol
now trumpy have done somthing here which i could not beleive an they made the hydrollic rams that open an close the wings on the real plane an fitted them an gently pushed the wing in to open the ram to full lenght an it just jumped out so i was not goin to fit them but jen told me to make a cuppa so down stairs i went an when i came back up jen had them wing rams all fitted to my amazement an they even open an close as demo by jen i was gobsmaked pic of them here IMG_0036.JPG

an one wing closed into swept vershion an the ram that jen fitted worked lovely an closed an the other ram in full open postion with wing fully open but i thought that they would just drop out jen had a brain wave by sayin the upper part of the fesalage which i havnt fitted yet says that the panel will hold them rams in place boy i cant see the wood for the trees as this never occured to me WOW what a SWMBO LOLIMG_0038.JPG

AN here the plane now all together but i had to cut off one of the locatein pins on the front port side as it was a bit out an would not fit so out comes the filler an thats the bit i was angry at guys but now lookin good im pleased to say IMG_0037.JPG

HI ALL WELL just another update on that cat an still havin fit troubleas to fit this bit in silver i had to grind about 3 mm off the inside of the fusalarge an then i dry fitted it an it seemed ok so gluded it an then had another look on where the tail plane fitts an its still stickin out by a mm or more so had to get the big hand file out an after 2 hrs of filein its now acceptable pic of how it was below IMG_0042.JPG

an here ive fitted in them hydrolics to push the wings in an out an jen was right when the top fusealarge cover is fitted on it does hold them hydros in place an i know they wont be seen but at least i know they are in there IMG_0043.JPG

an one fusealarge cover is now fitted an to my amazement it fitted ok IMG_0044.JPG

an really its quite detailed in this swing wing area IMG_0045.JPG

an wing open an now ready to fit the top cover IMG_0046.JPG

an here it is an to my amaszement it dint fit oh dear so more fileing to get a fit IMG_0047.JPG

an after quite a bit of filein an gettin a bit stressed it fineally fitted oh boy i was a bundle of nerves in case i broke anything holdin the plane

an wings now fully open an boy is she big IMG_0049.JPG

an nearly ready now to fitt togeather the both eletric plugs an then it will be nose fitting time just got to fit on the front undercart doors IMG_0050.JPG

WoW!! you could build an 'actual' F-14 by the time you've done here!

Great work on an awesome project, certainly make a conversation starter once displayed!

Miko (how big would a Nimitz class carrier in this scale?)
