Just spent the whole day sealing the inside of the the Hull and just in case I had sealed the outside with some watered down pva glue IMG_20240709_184556.jpgIMG_20240709_184552.jpgIMG_20240709_184549.jpgIMG_20240709_153001.jpgIMG_20240709_152954.jpg

Excellent progress. That first layer on the hull looks very neat. A great base for subsequent work .
What do you use to seal the hull interior?

I used normal wood glue watered down slightly and two layers of fabric gauze

Thin planks added to bow and stern IMG_20240711_132145.jpgIMG_20240711_132127.jpg
And six small blocks where the removable decking will be screwed down IMG_20240711_132117.jpgIMG_20240711_132113.jpg

After what seems an age the second layer of planking is finished but there is still a lot to do before the final sand and filling IMG_20240720_144751.jpgIMG_20240720_144755.jpgIMG_20240720_144803.jpg
And the next parts to be fitted are the resin bow and stern fittings and the centre prop former some more decking pieces and more parts for the upper hullIMG_20240720_145015.jpg

Now for the messy part I have all resin parts are attached now ready for all that sanding IMG_20240721_115804.jpgIMG_20240721_115800.jpgIMG_20240721_115758.jpg

First round of sanding done IMG_20240721_155740.jpgIMG_20240721_155738.jpgIMG_20240721_155732.jpg
Followed by some paint to highlight where it's more filling IMG_20240721_175037.jpgIMG_20240721_175034.jpgIMG_20240721_175030.jpg
And more fillerIMG_20240722_145923.jpgIMG_20240722_145919.jpg

Rather you than me. The planking must have taken a lot of time but the sanding, filling, sanding, painting, sanding must take forever. Looking very good though.

WELL Peter if you had done a plywood wrap round would have been a lot easier
like i did on my ships

Tried that on my last one it didn't really work I think I have enough experience with planking to make this work as my last one needed at least four goes to get the Hull right but hopefully I have cracked it two goes

Hull finished and painted it did put a coat of gloss varnish on first I will probably put another coat of paint on before another varnish. IMG_20240724_163614.jpg
