ON MY NEW windows 11 ive now got to learn how to resize the build pics from m/b to k/b when i learned that than i'll start to post pics
Chris I don't have windows11, but perhaps try this :

(ChatGPT) Method 1: Use the built-in Photos app (easy)
Resize the image (reduces both dimensions & file size)

Open the image (double-click it → opens in Photos).

Click the “” (More options) in the top-right corner.

Select Resize.

Choose a preset:

S (small) → good for forums

M (medium) → larger but still smaller than original

L (large) → least reduction

Save the resized copy.

Apparently that is the 'app' that opens when you click on a photo in your windows... So when you open a photo do you see the 3 dots in the top right corner?

Chris, did you 'save' the image after the resize?
If you did then here a other methods:

ChatGPT said:
✅ Method 1: Use Paint (built-in)

This is the simplest and requires no download. Steps
  1. Right-click the image → Open with → Paint
  2. At the top, click Resize
  3. Choose:
    • Percentage: try 10% or 5%
    • Or Pixels: set width to something like 200–800 px (forums often resize anyway)
  4. Press OK
  5. Click File → Save as → JPEG
  6. Save with a new name.
This often reduces the image from MB → <100 KB.

If still too large, repeat the process and resize smaller.
✅ Method 2: Use the Photos App

Good for quick compression.
  1. Open the image in Photos
  2. Click the three dots (…) → Resize
  3. Choose:
    • S (Small)
    • or Define custom dimensions
  4. Save.

✅ Method 3: Use an Online Compressor (fastest)

If you’re okay uploading the image:
  • TinyJPG
  • CompressJPEG
  • iLoveIMG
Set the smallest quality/size options.

⚠️ Online tools may reduce quality more dramatically but easily get down to 10–50 KB.
✅ Method 4: Use ImageMagick (advanced, huge compression)

If you want full control:
  1. Install ImageMagick
  2. Use command:
magick input.jpg -resize 20% -quality 20 output.jpg
You can tweak resize and quality to reach a few KB.
🎯 Tips to reach “a few KB”

To get an image <20 KB, you usually need:
  • Width ≤ 500 px
  • JPEG quality 20–40%
  • Avoid PNG unless it's line art—PNG stays large
