So, haven't got a sprue shot yet, but here's the box art
When I saw this set on the shelf in one of our go-to model shops, I just couldn't resist

Already made a start on two of tnhe figures and the moped, so they're not the build for the GB. It will be the two taking the selfie.\
With probably a little conversion work...

Y'know, I think the only other Tamiya I've still got unbuilt (after selling most off on eBa is the 1/72 Mossie I got at the De Havilland museum a couple of years back!
Oh, and a Panzer IV...

Also, I keep looking at the 1/38 JGSDF vehicles...

But I'd need a 1/48 Gojira or Gamera to go with them... Which do exist as kits...

As we're on Day 1, here's the sprue shot

Typically for me, they're not going to be built stiock, just like the two girlfriends with the moped I've already modded
The girl being photographed will be, slightly, modified into Kanon from the all-female J-pop group Atarashi Gakko. Their schtick is wearing school uniforms, even though they're all in their late twenties!

Here we go

AS you can just about see, the legs have a couple of tabs that fit into recesses in the body. Don't you just love Tamiya engineering? All it would take is to remove the tabs, and the pose could be slightly altered
Haven't put the mobile in her hand yet as I'm having, thoughts...
If I can make a pair of glasses to fit this figure, I will finish her as another member of Atarashii Gakko, Suzuka, as the hairstyle just about fits

So, for info, these are the ladies I'm talking about

Kanon on the left, Suzuka on the right
I don't have any suitable figures to do the other two members of the group, and their hairstyles would needs be scratchbuilt!IMG_4191.webp

How very unusual. Looking forward to seeing how you get on with this.

And again, my unfailing praise for Tamiya engineering continues!

After taking thee heels off, and flattening her feet, Suzuka still stands up by herself!
IMG_4192.webp
As does the other girl figure with the huge back pack!
Still, going to need some filler on the feet, plus some small detail work on the outfit. What's even better, I've found one routine by Atarashii Gakko wearang highschool-style tracksuits, so that's where I'll be going
Still, got to bend some wire for her glasses...

Kanon, meanwhile, is going to need a lot of work
IMG_4193.webp
With her feet 'flattened' she doesn't dstand up unaided, but the height proportions are about right, now that I've sussed just how the legs and skirt go together

I won't add the v-sign hand just yet, in case I manage to break off the fingers (you just I know that will happen!). Also, until the collar is added, I'll leave off the rest of here hair, which also makes painting the face easier. When it comes to skin tone, Kanon is apparently mixed race

And for today's last shot, this is the other pair in the set, I'm going to call 'Meeting the girlfriend.' Both heads are the alternates for the girl with the backpack

A-and I've only gone so vfar with the moped to make painting easier. Or masking rather. Have to look-up colour variants of that particular bike, if I can identify it. Maybe red and white.
Or some 'appropriate' colour stripes...

So, both ladies are pretty much finished as builds

Suzuka has her fringe expanded, and the baggy ends of the tracksuit added, Kannon has her sailor-suit collar, armband and sock-tops, done as well as her hairstyle (and forehead) ,accurized'. Feet may need some work after a base coat of white all over
While I'll try and make up some specs for Suzuka, I doubt they'll be added before painting
