    Eduard’s 1/48 scale A6M2-N Rufe (weekend edition)

Yes I know what you mean re panel lines. Over the last couple of years, I've had the chance to visit a few aircraft museums where the aircraft are left outside all year round, in whatever weather. Even then the panel lines , when even visible, were much subtler than often portrayed on models.

    Eduard’s 1/48 scale A6M2-N Rufe (weekend edition)

Thanks! The light grey wash seemed more appropriate to use than black in this case. Looking at the photos close up I see I still have to work on the canopy framing.... not my so good as I had hoped :) :)

Thanks! Yes, the Gemini created shots are quite nice, and easy to do - although you have to be careful that AI slop does not creep in and place strange things in the images.

    Eduard’s 1/48 scale A6M2-N Rufe (weekend edition)

Please find attached some photos of my build of Eduard’s 1/48 scale A6M2-N Rufe (weekend edition). Built straight out of the box with the exception of a replacement pitot tube from FineMolds, and rigging thread for the antenna. Hand painted using AK and Vallejo acrylics and lightly weathered...

Eduard 1/48 Spitfire IIa (weekend edition)

Here are some photos of my build of the Eduard 1/48 Spitfire IIa (weekend edition). I built as part of the Spitfire 90th anniversary GB but was very late in finishing it due to various reasons. Anyway here it is, built straight from the box and I must say it’s a lovely kit and goes together...

Gary's 1/48 Eduard Spitfire Mk.IIa Weekend Edition build

It's been sometime since I posted anything here, as work has been progressing on the Spit in fits and starts due vacations and various other commitments. But I'm still pushing on with it, albeit rather slowly. Below are some photos of the build so far. I regret using black to pick out the...

Gary's 1/48 Eduard Spitfire Mk.IIa Weekend Edition build

This is about as far as I am going to get before the end of the deadline. Still a lot to do I'm afraid..... need to touch up the paint work and polish out the ridges between the brown and green paint before varnishing, then weathering, etc, etc

Gary's 1/48 Eduard Spitfire Mk.IIa Weekend Edition build

Coming along, ready to mask for the green paint, although I'm not too happy with my brush work so far.

Gary's 1/48 Eduard Spitfire Mk.IIa Weekend Edition build

I'm definitely not going to rush it, but I reckon I might just make the deadline. I gave the airframe a good clean today to get all the crud off from filling and sanding, so it's ready for painting with 3 weeks to go......
