Laurie from Jersey
Welcome back Laurie 👍 Sorry to hear about your wife passing away, I’m not surprised you lost interest in making models. Its good your new home has let you carry on modelling though. As well as here did you used to post on Genessis models forum? Geoff.- Geoffers

What happend to the airfix 1:72 Willys jeep for sale for a £10 ish? (built)
Yes 😮 I just thought it may be his first build so I didn’t want to be too harsh. Check out eBay for some right pearlers 😳 Geoff. -
What happend to the airfix 1:72 Willys jeep for sale for a £10 ish? (built)
Lots of people sell or try to sell completed models on eBay. In fairness £10 is quite cheap compared to some of the asking prices for what look like pretty average models. I’m not sure how many actually sell them, I suppose it’s a way of trying to get your foot in the door for commission... -

Time well spent Kaci, a place for everything and everything in its place 👌 I hope you realise how triggering this will be to the untidy bench brigade 😂 Geoff. -

Latest Acquisitions (2026)
This arrived today 🙂 I as pleased when Revell announced they were re-releasing it. I was hoping Airfix might release a new tooled version but that doesn’t seem likely at the moment. Geoff. -
Choosing a kit from your childhood
The only one I have in mind is the Matchbox 1/32 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.22/24. I was given one as a gift around when I had reached the age where I had started thinking that making models wasn’t the cool thing to do 🙄 That along with its relative complexity meant I started it half heartedly... -

Geoff’s 1/48 Trumpeter MiG-3 (Neil’s MiGs blooming everywhere GB)
Thanks Joe 👍 From reviews I’ve seen Trumpeter are generally well detailed and go together ok but can be a bit inaccurate. I don’t know how accurate this MiG is but it looks good and I enjoyed building it so I suppose that’s all that matters really 🙂 Thank you Chris 😊 Geoff.- Geoffers

How do we manage to lose large parts ?
I usually put it down to Pixies 🧚♂️ On several occasions I have lost a part which pinged off into the ether necessitating a full bench strip down to look for it. Also usually including making several sweeps of the floor to check the carpet monster hasn’t snaffled it. After these fruitless... -

Best sets of tweezers....
After struggling with cheaper generic tweezers for ages I splashed out and bought these https://www.scalemodelshop.co.uk/mr-tools-mr-precision-tweezers-mr-hobby-mt-202-p17084/ They made a massive difference to me, far less sacrifices to the carpet monster/desk gremlins. They hold parts more... -
Geoffs Trumpeter 1/48 MiG-3
Cheers Steve 🙂 Thank you Stefan 👍 It was designed for high altitude combat so whether that’s the reason I don’t really know know. I think it looks very good though, it reminds me a a racing aeroplane. Thanks Ian, appreciated 🙂 Geoff.- Geoffers

Geoff’s 1/48 Trumpeter MiG-3 (Neil’s MiGs blooming everywhere GB)
Hello, Here’s my completed entry to this cracking GB. Thank you Neil for proposing and hosting it I really enjoyed it 😊 It was my first ever MiG and Trumpeter build. I was quite impressed with the kit, it went together well and was nicely detailed. The only down side were the decals which...- Geoffers
