Yup. Single colour camos are not as straightforward as they first appear!

At what point is your "stash" getting out of hand?

One cardboard 'crate' for my Soviet Jets One card crate for my Italians One card crate for Silver wings and ships As much stuff stacked on top (including my mecha) Think that's everything Not including the shelves full of 28mm vehicles and figures...

Phone? Ain't got no telling bone here, this be an laptop Which does raise a good point though, as the spellchecker usually red marks misspelling. What's the phrase? Union Flag - English. US Flag - English (simplified) And checking through settings, it says English (UK) on here... Hmm

Just think of all the extra detail you can put into something that big. How many different shades of grey you can put on the wings and fuselage (says the guy who has twelve different metal shades to put on 'silver' 'planes...)

    New to scale modelling!

Still, what do I know. I've only been building models since 1972, so I'm not much above a mildly gifted amateur!

    New to scale modelling!

Ah, well (putting on my 'cop out' hat) only you can decide how much extra you want to put in. I mean, I'm doing all these mini-MiGs for the GB on here, and of the seven I've done so far, all of them I've gone back to and tweaked. A first model is kind of an experiment, so why not try out a few...

Before I forget, an addition to the standard lot of tools Little clamps like these can be very useful

Do what works for you. Weathering is an inexact artform at best, so go with what works for you But IMHO, less is always more

    Chris' 1/144 Ye-50 'Not another -21 prototype!)

Okay, this is the bird I'm doing here So: nose extension; new wings; new tail fin with rocket motor; modified tailplanes; new small strakes mounted on pipes Using my new sandwich method for the wings, but now I'm leaving off the extra lower pane, as on the Ye-2 replacement wings, and cutting...

Chris'Trumpeter 1/144 J-7GB 'August First' Air Display Team (Neil's Blooming MiGs Everywhere GB)

Ho yus! My ever-expanding mini-MiG-21 collection (that I keep going back over and making tiny adjustments to!) Well, I can get so many more in the same space as, say, two 1/72s! (Though my 1/144 An-225 is actually bigger than a 1/48 Su-27!)

(Wheeze babble chime) ...And so it begins... Soon you'll have your own stash of kits you like but will 'definitely get around to building. Some day!' Mwahaha!

    Chris' 1/144 Ye-50 'Not another -21 prototype!)

Well, I could spice it up with a -15 or a -29! Or finish my half-built -3. Not that that would count for the GB!
  17. Steve-the-Duck

    Chris' 1/144 Ye-50 'Not another -21 prototype!)

Okay, decided on the next mini-MiG, as this one is going to need the most work The Ye-50 was a rmixed-power interceptor, based on the Ye-2, with an added rocket motor. It turned out to have the highest performance of the early family, but was very short-ranged Modifications will be the usual...

Oh, don't get me started! Did you know, even former President Eisenhower complained about that movie, among a slew of actual veterans!
