    1/35 T34/76 by TAMIYA 35049 1942 production with metal tracks !

Bridge looks great John, you're going to damage it later I hear...not suited perhaps for a tank crossing. I've often wondered if the Russians had engineers inspecting such river crossings before a planned assault. Your woodworking skills surely beats mine anytime. Cheers, Wabble

    Neil's 1-35 Liberty Ship Diorama

Many lightbulbs being turned on Neil, well done. Now you've done all the hard work I can make some myself in future although the bandoliers will still be made from sculptured putty. Great ideas. Cheers, Wabble

Good to see you at the bench again John R. Starting from the base up on a new dio is always a good thing for me too. Look forward for more. Cheers, Wabble.

    USS Buckley 1/700 Pitroad kit

Thanks Jim, apologese...just looked at the packaging, it's Xtraseal Puttyfiller pre mixed in a tub. Nothing else added, and it didn't crack due to the fact it wasn't watery. Cheers, Wabble

    'You Miscalculated'

Amazing and well done. Gives me the chills everytime I pass under thinking of the truck behind. Cheers, Wabble

    USS Buckley 1/700 Pitroad kit

Hi guys, I just laid down a layer of polyfilla roughly with a pattern of rolling waves. Let that settle and will sand the rough edges before laying a thin coat and sculpture scaled wave patterns. Here is what it looks like hardened with the dry fitted boat. Cheers, Wabble

    USS Buckley 1/700 Pitroad kit

Thanks Bob, strike while the irons hot and while I can still see them tiny things. Conversion on the other hull will be delicate removing the gun platforms on the deck to fit the closed turrets... luckily there's no tread plate pattern. Yes I will be building both ships... no sense in leaving...

    F-105D Thunderstick II-1/48 Revell kit

Apologies John, I have checked my stash and found that the 1/72 Weasel is actually a Trumpeter kit. Cheers, Wabble

    Neil's 1-35 Liberty Ship Diorama

I would have gone bald doing what you did. 😅 Cheers, Wabble

    USS Buckley 1/700 Pitroad kit

Good to have you following. Lovely builds of both kits although I prefer the lines of the Revell kit better as the bridge has the right height. No problem Tim, good to have you here. I've watched all you have mentioned...all very notable. Greyhound is interesting and great watching for the...

    B-52G-Griffiss AFB 1990s-1/200 DML

Dragon will be Dragon, John...you need to be on your toes constantly building their kits. Nice manageable size but the moulding isn't as crisp as it should be so parts mate with a little dip which needs filling. Still it's looking good so far. Cheers, Wabble

    F-105D Thunderstick II-1/48 Revell kit

Hi John, great work on the cockpit and this kit looks huge. TBH I missed this from the beginning. I have the 1/72 Wild Weasel from Academy and it's the size of some 1/48 jets. Although I prefer prop planes I do like an occasional jet. Looks like you've stopped for a while. Continuing soon I...

    USS Buckley 1/700 Pitroad kit

Hi all, Here's some behind the scenes of some boring stuff but crucial to making my dioramas a little more presentable. I don't have a woodwork shed or a large set of equipment to do this, just the simple saw, mitre box, hammer, nails, glue and an old vintage stool. So basically the base was...

    What did I agree too!

I'm always a sucker for these things and challenges. Good on you for taking it on. Jim's advice on dry fitting is a good start. It'll prepare you for surprises and to make corrections as needed beforehand. Will pull up a seat and keep you company. For the weird scale, the box size was the reason...

    Papa695s 1/600 HMS Ark Royal

At 1/600 scale she looks impressive with paint on Ian. Tall flight deck just like the Kaga and Akagi from the broadside. Love it. Cheers, Wabble

    USS Buckley 1/700 Pitroad kit

Hi, I was just mucking about with the base. Made my usual raised platform from compressed foam boards. I gave it roughly an inch high from the wood-base I will make with my usual timber beading. The sides will be shored up with card later after I slap on putty for the waves. Thought I'd...

    Neil's 1-35 Liberty Ship Diorama

Said some nice things on PF so just like a saying from a famous General..."I shall repeat..." Time for a catch up Neil, the added details to the crew are amazing and natural. Definitely has made the scene come alive. The treatment to the land lubbers shows the difficulty being on a rocking...

    Papa695s 1/600 HMS Ark Royal

Hi Ian, a 1966 kit cannot compare with a later Pitroad kit but you've done a pretty handsome job of it to give the Pitroad a challenge. I do remember making this in my pre teens...1970 and back then it was state of the art. I have the Revell kit with the extras but will need to cut and thin the...

    USS Buckley 1/700 Pitroad kit

Yes it is Jim. Thanks Ian, sadly I only have a few Pitroad kits. Thanks Joe, well the whole movie centered around depth charging the U-boat. Lots of reference from splashing to under the surface explosion and finally the geysers. They are going to be a challenge to replicate. Cheers, Wabble
