Good to have you following. Lovely builds of both kits although I prefer the lines of the Revell kit better as the bridge has the right height. Most EXCELLENT subject.I built the Buckley twice, Revell and Trumpeter. I saw the movie in the very early '60s, The Enemy Below. Excellent movie. Will be watching. heres a couple pics-first is Revell second is Trumpeter.

No problem Tim, good to have you here. I've watched all you have mentioned...all very notable. Greyhound is interesting and great watching for the acting but as usual the narrative is always very Hollywood. It has an Allied feel to it but as usual the lone Cavalry saves the day. Okay it was team effort to get to safety. I thought the Wolfpack would fight in calmer seas and mostly on the surface.Completely missed this Richard, sorry about that. Up to your usual planning and execution I see.
As to films, Das Boot and Cruel Sea are the gold standards for sub warfare to me. The stress (and boredom on Compass Rose) are palpable.
Not seen the Enigma one, and won’t. I thought it was insulting if I’m honest. Remember this film. It isn’t bad for its time.
Above us the waves is pretty good as well.
Not seen Greyhound, but it seems a bit like a reskinning of Cruel Sea so will only watch it if there’s nothing else on.
Honerable mention to In which we serve. More rounded, but a fine film, if only for Kathleen Harrison’s accent![]()
Thanks Bob, strike while the irons hot and while I can still see them tiny things. Conversion on the other hull will be delicate removing the gun platforms on the deck to fit the closed turrets... luckily there's no tread plate pattern. Yes I will be building both ships... no sense in leaving the other in the box.Great work and so small!
Thanks Jim, apologese...just looked at the packaging, it's Xtraseal Puttyfiller pre mixed in a tub. Nothing else added, and it didn't crack due to the fact it wasn't watery.Looking good. Interesting to see you using Polyfilla. Do you just mix it with water or do you add PVA? Does it crack as it dries?
