Next build dilemma, which kit to choose?

Peter, anyone you choose will give you the satisfaction of building which includes cussing. I gave up choosing after my 300th kit in the stash and now concentrate on finishing the couple of dioramas I had started. Seriously if you still have stash that fills all ten fingers, you can do an eenie...

    DH88 Comet..... Airfix 1/72

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: I don't know what you guys are on about...Airfix has produced classic vintage aircraft with the same moldings that I remember were the best in that era. Obviously it won't be the same standard as today and I wouldn't change it as it is nostalgic. Unfortunately they should have...

Mission Complete WIP of completed vignette.

Hi, when at the Planet I learnt a new method of making armatures. I had previously just used wire for my monkeys seen in my Ambush dio WIP. This time using two sprues for the pelvic and shoulders cut to the right length and giving room for the putty, five wires for the limbs and torso...

28mm Perry figures French Napoleonic Fusiliers

Small and well painted Tim. You must still have 20/20 vision to paint at this level. Cheers, Wabble

Mission Complete WIP of completed vignette.

Hi, I beefed up the armatures with putty to hold it in place and a bit on the passenger as well. Also roughly positioned the passengers head and when I'm satisfied I lock it in with CA. Did the removing of the wheel spokes and continued...should help with the moving illusion if executed well...

GWP Ruins dio constructed from home materials during lockdown.

Aw...he's cute. Yep, we buy in bulk whenever price drops. At the moment 8 bags of 18kg kibbles ready stocked and 40 10kg on stand by that never is enough. They can sure poop and pee. The rescued four kittens that were palm sized with ears still flat against their heads and still blind were...

Mission Complete WIP of completed vignette.

Hi Guys, I have posted the finished vignette under completed dioramas... Now here is the WIP inspired by what I've seen in the movie Where Eagles Dare. The characters are not accurately depicted but just wanted a scene reminiscent of it. It's two saboteurs escaping after a successful...

My first real attempt at military modelling

Hi Toto, a belated welcome aboard. I've been away at Planet Figures and decided to check out the scene back here. Looks promising with new diorama makers like myself. Looking forward to seeing your work. Cheers, Richard aka Wabble

GWP Ruins dio constructed from home materials during lockdown.

Hi Tim, good to know you are the rescuer kind. We made the mistake of neutering as we fostered rescued cats but got attached through the lengthy program so we have 25 of them plus two dogs. Obviously my time is taken up to care for these guys so my bench time is curtailed...pun intended. Imagine...

Walked toward the light but turned back

Hi Jim, just stumbled onto this being away from the forum for a while. Glad you made it through and back with the crazy world as it is now. Looking forward to seeing your next abominable creation. Cheers, Wabble

What flew over your house today... or yesterday... v2.0

Every year during Operation Pitch Black that happens in Darwin, Subang Airport gets a lot of traffic of stop overs by International Airforce Fighters, Tankers and Maintenance aircraft on their way there..sort of a pitstop. So being so close to the airport and within the flying path of these...

    Off-Road Truck Diorama

Lovely work. These guys are heavy and would make some sort of impression on the ground. The upgrading of the toys are done well. The tyres must have been hard to create weight. I like the angle of the shots...gives a dynamic effect. Are the figures modified in 3D print or from stock standard...

GWP Ruins dio constructed from home materials during lockdown.

You're right about the blast from the past, Jim. I had a long pause as I got to both Simon T and GerryW's posting, one a long standing contributor and the other a fairly new one, both taken away. Often wondered about their comments when I finish this project. The kitties are now lovely...

    GOODBYE

I drifted away for a while...wanting to experience some serious modelling. Don't get me wrong, I like it here 'cos it's free and easy and you can share weekend builds or quickies to get ones mojo back. The banter is very homely and wickedly fun. Occasionally I get irritated by the same beginners...

GWP Ruins dio constructed from home materials during lockdown.

Hi Guys, I'm resuscitating this build which was stalled 5 years ago due to the completing of the Ambush and Kure Harbour dios. I have re-edited the past WIP images to their rightful sizes for your viewing pleasure so you can start from the first page to recollect what I have done so far. Took me...

    1/35 T34/76 by TAMIYA 35049 1942 production with metal tracks !

Hi John, long time no see. Yep, 2022 was a good year tackling my monkeys.:p The good old early version of the T34 always looked good in winter camo and with full rubber tyres. Very iconic scenes of them racing through the steppes in mass surprising the germans. Looking forward to your...

Thank you. That was easy, just remove the spokes and airbrush the tyre threads after sanding them smooth. Thank you kindly. Thanks Steve. Thank you kindly Jim. Cheers, Wabble

Mission Complete 1/35 modified Tamiya vignette

Hi Guys, it's been a long time since I posted. Here's my latest vignette that I entered at MALCOM recently. Enjoy the pics. I have a full WIP on this build with a great amount spent on sculpting the figures which I will post later. My painting still needs improvement and I should have spent...
