    Pete's Vulcan

Good progress Pete. It sounds like a bit of a drama with the thinners delivery

    Very good masking job Scott

    Academy 1/72 Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat

Today I started painting the main scheme. One thing led to another. The nice dry air we have at present means the paint can be handled after a short time, so taking advantage of that, I got the white, sea blue and intermediate blue scheme on.

    Academy 1/72 Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat

This is moving fast by my standards. After a day of letting the primer dry, I got the engine painted and fixed inside the cowl.

    Academy 1/72 Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat

Thanks Lee. I like them, they build relatively quickly, and they are cost effective. Decals can be hit and miss though.

    Academy 1/72 Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat

A rudimentary cockpit job, adding Tamiya tape belts and a quick brown wash. It builds quickly, a smear of filler here and there, particularly at the lower wing to fuselage join and at the nose.

    Academy 1/72 Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat

A quick build before the Tamiya GB kicks off. I'm going to attempt the three colour scheme of sea blue over intermediate blue and white. The decal option is not accurate, I checked online; K40 was a -5 version. As I want a -3 with the rear glazing, I found photos of these being loaded onto...

    Rick’s 1/72 Airfix Junkers Ju52 - a rite of passage build

The fuselage joins look very nice indeed Rick. I recall using a lot of surface primer on the old version to get those gaps seamless.

Italeri 1/72 Dassault Mirage 2000 EAD

Thanks Steve, I wouldn't call it faultless as there are always little things wrong or botched, but certainly looks better than the 10 year old version. Thanks Stefan, glad you like it. Must have been impressive to see a Mirage operating. Cheers Tony, I'm glad I chose the UAE colours too...

BOATMANS USS ENTERPRIE CVN 65 in 1/350 SCALE WITH LIGHTS

This kit was released in 1984 to be fair Chris. A lot of other manufacturers have come along, and like anything else, improved or added detail. I remember getting the very first Tamiya Magazine and seeing this beauty on the cover. Then came the movies with carrier scenes so it probably became...

    Brian's Sovereign of the seas

The right thing to do if you weren't happy Brian. We can get so engrossed in a build, taking a few days off to have a think and look from afar can be useful. So your cold has a positive (y)
