    Adventures in resin 3D printing

Thanks for the information John, I'll pass it on to Thomas

    Adventures in resin 3D printing

Cheers Steven, a cautionary tale. I'm currently trying to get my head around CAD software to make my own designs, so I'm safe. Just need to keep an eye on the youth lol

And then there's the whole remix situation. If I downloaded a design then added some extra twiddly bits myself, could I then claim it as my own? Like you say, the law is probably lagging behind the tech and needs clarifying.

    Bogged down Boris

Thanks Tim. I'm sure I heard a whispered "gotcha" at times 😁

    Adventures in resin 3D printing

Your guess is as good as mine Tim. It seems to be a grey area that I haven't got to the bottom of yet. I do currently have a line though. Thomas regularly does commission painting, and also sells his older or excess models online. If that were to include 3d printed models I'd probably be okay...

    Adventures in resin 3D printing

I think he may in the future John, I just need to keep an eye out for copyright issues as some designs are for personal use only. He's a sensible lad, but I don't want him being led astray by peer pressure.

    Bogged down Boris

Thanks Joe. I wasn't sure if he was having a smoke or "gesturing" to the officer 😂

    Bogged down Boris

Thanks gents, I'm glad you like it. I'd love to think that Ron might have given it a nod of approval too.

Thanks for everything Ron, you will be sorely missed.

    Bogged down Boris

"Watch this!" shouted Boris to Fritz, the passenger in his shiny new halftrack. The plan was to cross the river then romp up the opposite bank to show just how capable the vehicle was. Unfortunately, Boris ran out of talent and managed to get the beast stuck. He tried his best to extracate...

    1/1 paintwork

Thank Matron for me John, it's always an honour to receive a dog's award. I may print it out to hang on the office wall 😎 With the silver nice & dry I masked just inside the previous edge with 3mm tape and applied the black I then repeated the process for the gold. I was applying...

    1/1 paintwork

I'm sure she'll have something to say about the mess 😯 My friend that took the building over is slowly cramming the space full of his projects so my working area is getting smaller and smaller 😂 I could build a couple of cars with the amount of spare parts he has upstairs, then there's a...

    1/1 paintwork

After a couple of days in the sun and a Bank Holiday weekend to "breathe", it was time to carry on with the Honda. The owner had brought me some stickers as an example but wanted them painting on. After scratching my head a bit I came up with an idea. First I laid the stickers on to the...

    Adventures in resin 3D printing

I'm sorry that I'm lagging behind with updates and info on this but I've been a bit busy so haven't really had a chance. My lad is certainly getting his (or rather my!) moneys worth 😂 A few random examples of the things he's printing:

Ah, I see. It has been a few years 😂

    You can't park there mate!

Thanks very much Steven. I really enjoyed not getting bogged down with complicated techniques, although there were several times I was longing to reach for an airbrush 😂

    Tamiya Bulldozer - 1:48 - Small Dio/Vignette complete

A cracking job on the model Peter and a great base with plenty of interest. It might surprise people just how small this kit is. Mine doesn't have headlamps though, did you add those yourself?

    You can't park there mate!

Thanks chaps. I've been snapping and think I've got a few good shots. I'm too busy watching the snooker to compose the full post but here's one for now:

    You can't park there mate!

The figures are in place so I'm pretty much done here. A bit of tidying up, repaint the black edges, then try and harness some of Ron's photography magic to take the finished shots. I can't even get everything in bloomin' focus, yet he had the ability to frame shots so well that his scenes...

Help please with products and items

I had 2 mates that did a lot of diecast cars. They'd just dump the cars into a container of standard thinner (aka cellulose or lacquer thinner), after ensuring all plastic parts had been removed. It stripped the paint off easily. Life's way too short to remove it mechanically!
