    Dspiae mini cordless (USB) Grinder

There are a few nice touches to this that make Dspiae stand out as a manufacturer that thinks their designs through. As shown in the video, the easily lost Allen key is stored nice and safely in the handle. Also included are two spare grub screws for the chuck. Again, they could quite easily...

    Dspiae mini cordless (USB) Grinder

I have a big assorted kit of Parkside bits, they don't fit my Dspiae 😕

    Dspiae mini cordless (USB) Grinder

This is my main niggle with this. The collet is 3mm as you say. Dremel and other widely available bits are 1/8", or 3.2mm, so don't usually fit 😕 It just means looking around for bits with a 3mm shank

    Land Rover FC 1/76 kitbash

Thanks Jim, it was certainly a test for the old peepers. And Steven & Tony, thanks. I thought it would be a real challenge at this scale but it was a great change from larger pieces. I seem to be having a run of small stuff at the moment. I'm currently working on some Epic Scale Warhammer...

    Land Rover FC 1/76 kitbash

And we're done. A fairly simple kitbash but I found it much more fun than just knocking a regular kit together.

Guess who has a resin printer on order? 🤣 This is the un-glamorous side lol. Hopefully more exciting developments will follow shortly.

Pesky dust and blowing it away

Sounds like it could be lint from the paper you're using. Those types both break down quickly when wet. I suppose the "best" would be a guaranteed lint free cloth like crows feet that we use in my trade. So called because of the pattern imprinted on it. A bit rich for modelling though, I just...

    Land Rover FC 1/76 kitbash

After sorting the underside I've started with the paintwork. First off was Nato green all over the body, which I then lightened with a tan colour for the tilt With it being so small, a few blobs of blu tack were ideal for the masking A splash of Nato black left me with this I decided to...

"Come on Big D, fly" The Hunt for Red October.

A great start Jim, and absolutely the kind of thing Ron might have done.

    Water washable resin

Thanks Lee. I ended up going for regular, IPA wash resin in the end. I figured the water would still need treating like a hazardous material anyway so thought I might as well stick to IPA. I'm used to handling chemicals, we'll just have to see how much the boss complains about the odour! 😂

That's a great sculpt, and very nicely painted!

    Water washable resin

After lots of research I've pulled the trigger. I've gone for ABS-like resin as it's supposed to be more flexible & durable, without sacrificing too much quality. Ideal for our needs I think. Once Thomas has got it up & running I'll have him give his dad an idiots guide 😁

    Land Rover FC 1/76 kitbash

Cheers. I'll be putting in a second row of seats. It won't be very comfortable back there as there's no legroom, but it's better than walking 😁

    Land Rover FC 1/76 kitbash

Thanks Tony, I haven't seen one out in the wild for many years. There's a guy near me on Ridgeway Road with all manner of iconic vehicles on his drive, including a Citroën HY and one of those 3 wheeler Piaggio "vans". I keep hoping one of these will appear some day 😎

    Toyota GR supra

I did a front end on one of these recently and as you say, it's just a hard topped BMW . Sat inside, you'd never know it was wearing a Toyota badge, it's Beemer everywhere you look, even the key fob.

    Land Rover FC 1/76 kitbash

Cheers John, I generally find a solution for most issues in the end. Some just take a bit longer than others 😁 The axles are now fixed in place, with the wheels just blue tacked on for the moment. It might be a bit overloaded though! 😳 I'm now working on the chassis outriggers, most of which...
