    Rick's 1-87 Scale 3D Printed Fiat 666 Cargo Truck

So....this little beast is a handful!! Nothing fits as it should, so far I have had to drill or file every part in order to get any kind of reasonable fit so I can eventually glue this thing together once all the paint work is completed. Until then it's "cut cut here" and a "snip snip" there...

    Rick's 1-87 Scale 3D Printed Fiat 666 Cargo Truck

The Jury is still out on this guy Lee but overall it appears to be dimensionally correct. there are a few little lines in places but they sand out quickly. I have to be extremely careful, this thing is thinner than egg shell. I checked the thickness of the tarp for the cargo bed....... it's...

    Rick's 1-87 Scale 3D Printed Fiat 666 Cargo Truck

After this thing was released from it's cage, I was able to get a closer look at it and it appears my work will be "cut out" for me as this little beauty has the Mumps or better described as the "nubs"!! every one of those little support fingers has left a nice round raised blob of resin at...

    Rick's 1-87 Scale 3D Printed Fiat 666 Cargo Truck

Here it is out of the "cage" and into my kit box. I might add that it does not come with a windshield or side windows, no spare tire and no accessories, pioneer tools jack, fuel cans etc. Fortunately the good Mr. Merryweather has seen to that and all will be available on the finished model.

    Rick's 1-87 Scale 3D Printed Fiat 666 Cargo Truck

After considerable pressure from this "crew" I'm going to blog this build. Background first......been wanting one of these for years so when I spotted it on Etsy(other sites are available) from a Polish 3D Printer, I said why not! It was very reasonably priced and shipping was cheap as well, so...

    What's on the Bench 2023

This is what's currently under consideration........not sure I want to do a build thread on it, my first time doing an all 3D printed model and am not sure about fit, finish etc. not to mention it did not come with anything in print to suggest how to go about getting it out of its resin cocoon...

Rick's 1-87 Scale Jagdpanther Conversion Completed

I think I can safely say this is as done as it's going to get. A fun little conversion as well as a bit of a learning experience. Enjoy. ;)

Rick's 1-87 Scale Trident Jagdpanther Conversion

Hi Guys, so I think this one is now done. Here's a "Teaser" shot with the venerable Vallejo bottle for a size comparison, as requested by the good Mr. Lovell. I'll post some more shots in the Armor completed section later on.

    Latest Acquisitions (2023)

Found this listed on Etsy for the ridiculous price in the lower left corner of the image so I ordered 2 of these Fiat 666 trucks in 1-87 scale. This company is in Poland and the quality of his printing in this scale is "baby butt" smooth with all the fine details in place. The best part is...

Rick's 1-87 Scale Trident Jagdpanther Conversion

Current progress on paint repairs and adjustment of camo pattern. also some detail painting of the tracks.....tried something new, Tamiya panel line accent (brown) I washed the tracks with this stuff then when dry I went over them lightly with Steel lacquer (Testor's) and then did a little...

Rick's 1-87 Scale Trident Jagdpanther Conversion

So here's what I was shooting for......I got close but tough to follow exactly. There is going to be plenty of touch up and "doctoring" before this is considered done, but it's closer than it was.

Rick's 1-87 Scale Trident Jagdpanther Conversion

Last update before paint........cable assembly is completed and located, outside road wheels are deflashed and also ready. The antenna stays off till after the paint and cammo are completed...been stabbed in the past too many times while handling.;)

Rick's 1-87 Scale Trident Jagdpanther Conversion

Here's the last "tidbit" I'm monkeying with before I can throw some paint at this.......the scale cables were way too small so I upgraded to six strands of twisted speaker wire and of course, the old standby, wine bottle foil for the swaged fitting to holds it all together.

Rick's 1-87 Scale Trident Jagdpanther Conversion

Rick's 1-87 Scale Trident Jagdpanther Conversion

Final update of the day......I got the skirt brackets installed and turned an antenna mast and dry fitted it. I also sanded the gun shield and aperture a little more to reduce the overly coarse appearance. Tomorrow I'll start on the stowage and tow cable along with the pioneer tools, jack etc.

Rick's 1-87 Scale Trident Jagdpanther Conversion

Got a few outside chores to take care of so not much to post up......Got some Mr. Surfacer on the gunshield and the cast aperture. I think I might need to "knock" it down a bit more. In the second shot I have located the bars that the side skirt brackets will suspend from......still have to...
