1/16 figure - Air Transport Auxiliary pilot

The head on the right would have been my choice too, they are both good, way beyond what I would be able to achieve, having only done two 1:12 figures myself so far....but I just think the one on the right looks a tiny tad more lifelike/realistic, although TBH they both do, and as you say not a...

Small and Basic G40 Dozer Dio/Vignette

As I am nearing the end of my little (1:48 scale) Tamiya Japanese G40 Bulldozer build, and it is such a nice little model, I have decided it needs its own little vignette. It will be very small and very simple, just a base with some fine sand/gravel which the dozer will be shovelling to one...

    Bulldozer Komatsu G40, 1:48. Tamiya

Now added a rust wash (Ammo/Mig). The kit comes with what are described as metal stickers for the main front badge. They are tiny! They look like thick decals. So like an eejit I tried applying them like decals, but nope, they have a very thin plastic coating, so do not dissolve/move like...

A Tale of 3 Tigers (Reprise) now a Tale of 4 Tigers!

My original quest was to build three Tigers, one in 1:72, and one in 1:48 and one in 1:35, but after my initial 1:72 model, I found a tiny little 1:144 one, so I had to build that as well! So we have gone from three, to four Tigers, and what a lovely little family they are. The 1:144 was a no...

How long to make a standard model??

I struggled with PE at first too, tiny little blighters! especially with gluing it down, but I now have some PE specific glue and it works a treat, (Deluxe Materials Photo Etch Glue).... (y)

Italeri Tiger I - 1:35 - Completed (with added extra!)

NB: Bonus points if you can guess which film the audio in my short YT video was taken from? (in the middle of the video clip) ;) (y)

Italeri Tiger I - 1:35 - Completed (with added extra!)

Second batch of photos, with the added extra crewmen on board.... Here are the little crew figures painted and gloss varnish And here they are after the final matt coat. I decided not to use the standing crewman, well not yet anyway, If I decide to do a little dio later then he may get used...

Italeri Tiger I - 1:35 - Completed (with added extra!)

Here is the completed post for my Italeri 1:35 scale Tiger I Ausf.E tank. It was a nice kit, few small gaps to fill, but not much. I have posted a short YouTube video of the model too, see link below: Short YT Video link Photos are below... The "added extra" are a couple of little Panzer crewmen...

    Bulldozer Komatsu G40, 1:48. Tamiya

Think I'm finished painting now, added a few more touches, and added flat Ali to the fornt of the blade, as that would stay a bit shiny with use, also added flat Ali dry brushing to areas that would be worn, eg: track raised edges, seta cushions and arm rests, entry point up to the cab, plus a...

Review - Dspiae Tool Combo Set - Pt1

I'm a bit of a tool nut, so I have lots, Lol. Think it comes from my past of being "on the tools" as a plumber, where as a tradesman, relying on your tools daily, you quickly learn that good quality tools are actually cheaper in the long run if they last well. I tend to have tools for every...

    Bulldozer Komatsu G40, 1:48. Tamiya

Oops, just noticed in the photo above I was using Tamiya gloss black X-18 whereas I was intending to use flat black XF-1. Luckily not a lot of black was used, so it does not look too glossy! Must concentrate harder, Lol!

    Bulldozer Komatsu G40, 1:48. Tamiya

So I started the rust painting, I have a Mig/Ammo book on how to do rust, but TBH its basically a catalogue/sales brochure for their paints, pigments and washes! Also, they take about 50 steps to get to the final rust effect. I have tried to break their long winded procedure down into fewer...

    Bulldozer Komatsu G40, 1:48. Tamiya

Komatsu or Komatu? Just noticed that the Tamiya box says "Komatsu", but the included decals say "Komatu"..... so which is it, anyone know? Initial build now completed and painted, but, I am attempting a "rusty" build with this one, so the next step is to try and get some sort of rust effect...

Good luck with it, I would not go back to work now if you paid me double, Lol, done my 45 years, think I earned a bit of me time.

How long to make a standard model??

As above it depends, on lots of things... What the model is. How big or small the model is. How many parts the model has. How complicated the model is. How much time you have to carry out your modelling. How much research you like to do (or not). What experience, tools, space and equipment you...

    Italeri Tiger I Ausf. E Tank - 1:35

This one is now finished. My quest to build a family of Tigers is now done. I don't think I will be going any larger than this 1:35. It was a relatively nice kit, a few little gaps during the build, but nothing too major. Final steps were to tidy up paintwork, add some cable to the front spare...
