    Adventures in resin 3D printing

Nice one andy , fascinating stuff . Its a great addition to the modellers arsenal , bit like resin moulding was when it first took off . Its way beyond me as my computer skills are non existant but the end product is definitely something I would use ( have done already in fact )

1/16 figure - Air Transport Auxiliary pilot

Thanks Joe , Andy , always good to get a second opinion . Very handy being supplied with two heads , good practice . What with this one and Arnie , I’m starting to lose the fear of figures ( more especially the faces ) so the SAS jeep might be moving up the ‘to do next ‘list !

Thats the seller I was going to suggest andy , I know from experience his figures are fantastic ( I had the RAF pilots at rest set ) maybe a message to him to ask if he has any suitable figures on file to buy

Fast work Andy ! Not just on the halftrack , but getting to grips with the new machine . The printed stowage stuff looks excellent , very handy bit of kit to have if you know what youre doing ( me , not a chance , i can only just work a photocopier ! )

Thanks neil , thats a win for the darker haired one then ! Now Ive got the face sorted it should be a bit less difficult for me from now on . The trousers can now be highlighted a bit but I think I’m going to leave the shirt as it is - becuase its white I’m scared if I try and add some shading...

    1/48 ESCI Henschel hs 129

Yes the inlet on the early marks was the round type but on the b2 and b3 variants its the square one . The two round lumps either side of it on the kit cowling though arent really visible in any pics of the b3 so off they came !

Thanks steven , appreciate the feedback . I was leaning towards that one too , the one on the left has a bit of a lazy eye ! Also I did the one on the right with darker hair and I think it looks a bit better .All good practice though , cheers tony

    1/48 ESCI Henschel hs 129

Got the wings and tail fitted and the fit wasnt exactly Tamiya style ! All the seams and joints needed filler of some type and there were quite a few sink marks to sort too. The engines have been fitted in the cowlings and the joints sorted but looking at reference pics there are two strange...

1/16 figure - Air Transport Auxiliary pilot

Well Ive done the second head and touched up the first . If I may I would like the opinion of anyone watching as to which one to use , theres not a lot of difference but a fresh perspective is always welcome , cheers tony

1/16 figure - Air Transport Auxiliary pilot

Thanks neil , I think the left eye ( right as youre looking at it ) could do with a bit of touching up but I’m scared of messing it up so will probably leave it , hopefully the second one will be ok too .

1/16 figure - Air Transport Auxiliary pilot

Well I started one of the heads and after a lot of fiddling I’m quite happy with it . The temptation is to keep messing and finish up ruining it so I’m going to leave it as it is and see how the other one goes , then use the best one .

Brilliant idea andy , definitely a Ron type dio . The halftrack looks a superb bit of kit , I really like small scale armour stuff like this , might have to look out for one of these .

Thanks to Neils timely advice Ive repainted the trousers and shirt , they will both be getting a bit of shading / highlighting later . Ive made a tentative start on the faces , starting with the eyes .

    1/48 ESCI Henschel hs 129

Yes the tsetse was a rather more integrated design although slightly smaller at 57 mm but I think more successful than the Henschel . I built the Airfix mosquito tsetse a bit back but in 1/72 . Ive made up my mind and I’m going to do the b-3 with the 75mm gun , as they say ‘go big or go home!’...

Yes they're very cartoon like arent they ! Luckily they sit well under the coaming so cant really be seen once the canopy is on . The gun would be a real speed killer with the recoil , I dont think these were the fastest aircraft to start with !

    1/48 ESCI Henschel hs 129

Cheers guys. Not decided yet if I’m doing the B1,B2 or B3 option , I like the big gun on the B3 but it wasnt really used operationally much and if I do then the bottom gun troughs need fairing over so it might be the B2 , I can decide later after ive got the airframe all together

    1/48 ESCI Henschel hs 129

Heres one I picked up off ebay , the ESCI Henschel hs129 . It dates from 1977 and is of the time , featuring raised panel lines and a quite basic cockpit . Its an aircraft that has always interested me though so I had to get it . I started with the cockpit , which has a decal for the instrument...
