Its too flipping Hot!
Not sure what temperature it is here in the mancave but nowhere near what you guys are getting ..... after all it is Scotland ..... and has its advantages. Still ..... warm enough to help PVA and plaster set a bit quicker .... Still .... my sympathies are with you guys ..... hope it cools down... -

Plaster cast and card brick walls
So ..... dry enough to work on as the shed is warm and the build up of heat is helping nicely here .... I mixed up a witches potion of PVA, plaster, water and some white acrylic primer .... don't ask to what ratio ..... just some of each ... 😂 and then applied to the brickwork once it had...- toto

So ..... I started the brick wall build as described above ..... I am using my brick wall section moulds from Diorama Debri as the starting point for the wall ..... and a mock up of two sides of bricks with two brickwork returns ... one either end .... and another image from a different...- toto

Hi Stefee, Thats the beauty of this hobby ..... you can get away with using anything that springs to mind. There is also a lot of household junk that would otherwise hit the bin that can be used. empty food containers, cereal packaging, Leftover DIY products .... its endless really. It is...- toto

Vietnam Diorama - 1:35 - US troops/vehicles, etc
You can see a difference with regards to the shinyness. you have done a great job and the extra detailing makes it look as if it is actually being operated within. Looking forward to the vehicles etc taking their place. toto- toto

Back to the grind ..... all the supports completed and glued in to place ..... The other side formed in Daler board again ready to be glued in to place ..... and on it goes ..... and the initial side getting a little grubby from all the handling etc but easy enough cleaned up...- toto

Back on the case again. cutting and gluing more softwood supports ...... can't really see the progress due to the obstruction by all the clamps .... a couple of photo's anyway .... more of the same really ... only a couple of small bits to go once this lot dries out a bit and then we can...- toto

Latest Acquisitions (2026)
OK ..... I was awaiting this stuff coming through ..... A selection of static grasses in different guises ..... and one of these bad boys for applying it. I have a minature version of this which is meant for detailing etc but it would probably take a life time doing bigger area's so bit... -

And I have ...... just a little though ...... boxing the frontage out with 4mm softwood box section ..... and another as the sections get added .... from the front and all is still quite neat .... and more stiffeners and window formers being added ..... and one last shot for now...- toto

A slight change in plan ....... the remodelling will not be based in Balsa wood. I tried this and due to the close proximity of some of the cuts, the balsa kept slitting along it's grain. So ..... not to be beaten ..... well not that easily anyway ...... I cut the template out in Daler board...- toto

Been looking at the Cafe frontage. The resin print is not the best in my opinion . Soooooo ...... I've decided ..... i think ..... to remodel it in Balsa wood. I'm sure I could do it. .... we have the technology ..... 😂. The overall desgn will be similar but I may be able to add a little more...- toto

Looks very good. I'd say you have the density about right and the shorter grass and mud go well. The bigger plants as you say need dulling down and when done maybe a matt varnish to lock in your washes and flatten the finish. You work and achieve very quickly and are a pleasure to follow...- toto

Yes I was correct ..... the other way around choosing to leave the building with the resin part until last. so .... The buildings facade is planted ( note not in place, just in an angle easy to work with for now ). on with the first side applying PVA and clamping tight into position ...- toto

Went out to the shed to check on my plaster cast building that I glued together on Sunday before travelling north .... removed the clamps and supporting weights ....... and lifted it up its little pegging points ..... and all is well .... This one will likely be next .... Then this...- toto
