Polls?
Question for @John or other mods.... Can we not post polls on this forum? I don't see an option for it here? On a couple of the other forums I'm on too you can post polls to ask people questions, etc. It sometimes can be a useful tool to garner info on a subject or peoples opinions about things... -
The rise of Warhammer, et al, V "regular" traditional scale modelling?
Almost every model shop I go into now, and other related shops, eg: Hobbycraft, etc, all seem to be expanding their Warhammer type offerings, games, figures, vehicles, etc and at the same time floor space for what I would call "regular" or more traditional scale models seems to be reducing. For reference, photos showing not much "track slack" on the real thing. TBH, I think the whole track slack thing is a bit overdone IMHO, and if you look at photos of many tanks, they don't have much slack a lot of the time anyway. I think it adds to the "realism" but it certainly can be overused...- pjgtech

Had to get some shopping, eggs and bread, so had to go past my local model shop, so I popped in, as it would be rude not too.... They had loads on sale as they are being taken over by a new owner in a week or so, so picked up a few bits. This was down form £20 to an unwell Octopus (sick squid!)... -

Then today I made up some small spacers (from lolly stick pieces stuck together to make small blocks), and placed them between the wheels, so when I stretched the tracks over...- pjgtech

Desert Diorama - Featuring British ATMP x6 wheeler
Not done much to the diorama today, but did a little bit late last night, finalising the paint to the partial building, eg: bits of debris, old timbers, rocks (to the rear and inside portion of the building) and put a mild grime wash on the whitewashed walls to knock them back a bit. The action man one was not as detailed though! I do seem to remember that me and my mate, (he had an action man tank too) use to sit on them and ride them round like a sort of go cart and try to race each other. They were quite sturdily built....think I was about, erm, 10 ish?- pjgtech

Still beavering away at this little tank in between also working on the desert dio. Added the green wire to the rear spool, managed to break the little PE frame during the process and ended taking the whole spool off, removing the frame, adding the wire, then refixing the frame, then refixing...- pjgtech

Cleared the base of all excess and loose coverings, sand, small rocks, etc after a good shake, also added a couple of small bits of green, looks a lot less cluttered and messy now IMHO.
