    Pete's M35 truck. Academy 1/72

I missed a few sink marks when I said the mouldings were good: The winch on the front of the chassis has 6 components, so lots of opportunities to put it together wrongly. I took it apart nad tried again 4 or 5 times but I'm pretty confident it's correct now. Then a few more suspension and...

    Pete's M35 truck. Academy 1/72

Now the Zeke is finished, it's time to start trucking. Picked up this Academy kit for a US M35 2.5 ton truck at the recent MAFVA show. Seems to be decently moulded, with a good level of detail. Actually 4 sprues, but one has only one part on it. It's in a sand colour plastic but will end up...

    Pete's completed Zeke

Not sure if this is in the right place, I couldn't find a Completed folder. Anyway, I've been a bit distracted by a very poorly cat and the arrangements for my wife's knee replacement, so I've been plodding away at this a bit at a time, and have now finished, so here's some pics: Thanks to Andy...

    Pete's Mitsubishi A6M2b Zero 'Zeke'. Airfix, 1/72

Alright, this is as finished as it's going to get! I did a bit of sponge chipping and gave the whole thing a good dose of Flory Dark Dirt wash. I'll put up a 'finished' thread later. Pete

Pete's wheeled cargo movers GB. Aug - Dec 2023. Chat thread.

I'll sneak in at the back with this if I may: Only 4 windows, no tracks, and all the same colour - what's not to like! Pete

    Pete's Mitsubishi A6M2b Zero 'Zeke'. Airfix, 1/72

Well, I brush-painted the drop tank. Didn't come out too badly: I could have done a better job if it didn't have those bay doors nearly touching the tank. Also started on the topside decals: I'm not sure if I like the yellow stripe as a decal - saves a bit of masking, but tricky to fit around...

    Pete's Mitsubishi A6M2b Zero 'Zeke'. Airfix, 1/72

Made a start on the decals: The prop is off because the cement wasn't setting - might be a bit of blu-tac in it, or maybe some oil wash on the engine has got onto the prop spindle. Also noticed I'd forgotten that the external fuel tank and its pylon should be aluminium. Not sure if I'm brave...

    Pete's Mitsubishi A6M2b Zero 'Zeke'. Airfix, 1/72

Sorry about the lack of updates folks - I had a bad attack of the shaky hands, and for the last 10 days we've been trying to cope with a very poorly cat. I've managed to finish masking the canopy: There are two holes in the rear of the canopy, one more or less circular which is for the aerial...

    Pete's Mitsubishi A6M2b Zero 'Zeke'. Airfix, 1/72

I've joined the fuselage halves, which needed a bit of work on the seams. Since then I've been struggling with making the canopy - it just isn't going well. Scrapped the first 2 attempts using Tamiya tape and trying again with BMF. I was trying to mask the canopy before fitting it but I was...

    Revell 1/72 Hurricane

A quick build, that I could have done better in a number of areas but I didn't think the kit deserved having much time spent. Still, it looks a bit like a hurricane Not too bad for £1! Pete :

    Pete's Mitsubishi A6M2b Zero 'Zeke'. Airfix, 1/72

Thanks for the offer Andy. I'm going to do the box art scheme, but if you can offer any help with the actual colours that would be useful. No, they just nagged me until I bought something! A/B for this one, my hairy stick attempts on the Hurricane didn't work out too well. I might use the paint...
