    Airfix 1/72 Hawker Typhoon 1b

Happy with how the seat turned out , finished with Eduard etched belts ( RAF late style) . The fuselage sides have been painted , cockpit green on the lower fuselage , black above the seat level and aluminium for the tubular framework. Ive got a confession to make - I made the schoolboy error...

    Joe's 1/72 Airfix Boeing Chinook HC1

Looks superb joe , masking a sharpish edge on such an awkward shape is a task isnt it . Looks great now , looking forward to the masking coming off , cheers tony

    Airfix 1/72 Hawker Typhoon 1b

So made a start on the cockpit , priming up various bits and the kit threw up another surprise . Despite the sprues being in a sealed bag the pilots seat was missing ?! Seen as I’ve already raised a missing part issue with Airfix I thought I’d just scratch one . So out with the spares box for a...

    Airfix 1/72 Hawker Typhoon 1b

Heres something I picked up on ebay yonks ago . The well regarded Airfix Typhoon 1b . Ive been having a bit of a run on 1/72 stuff lately and this looks to be a nice build . Oops! Spoke too soon - heres what I found when I opened the sealed bag containing the transparencies. The plastic is...

    Eduard 1/48 Lavochkin LA7

Yes jim there were some ridiculously small parts , impossible to use . The belts were a bugger too , the lap belts consisted of two parts each , one had to be threaded through the buckle on the other - madness but I somehow managed it

    Gecko amphibious LARC-V

Nice progress andy , looking at the sprues it looks like theres a rubber dinghy included , does this go on the back of the vehicle or is there a trailer ?

    Tamiya M18 Hellcat 1/35

Beautiful model , great photos too . Dont know much ( anything !) about armour being mainly an aircraft builder but I know a quality build when i see one . Does this tank have an open top turret or does the kit supply removeable roof panels ? (I did say I dont know anything !) Thought maybe it...

    Bf 109 G-2 (Trumpeter 1/24)

That looks unbelievably good ! You must have the steady hand of a surgeon to cut those numbers out so precisely. This is going to look stunning , cheers tony

    More new stuff from Airfix.....

I would have thought it was an april fool if it wasnt January ! Mind you Lego recently brought out flower sets too so it must be right . Still strange though .

    Eduard 1/48 Lavochkin LA7

Airframe together now and canopy masked and fitted ( well, the front and back sections) The gunsight was fixed before the canopy went on with the reflector lens being replaced with a piece of holographic confetti , as the kit one had a ruddy great seam running down the middle of it . The front...

    ICM 1/32 Yak-9T

    Gecko amphibious LARC-V

Lots of bits there andy ! The parts count is impressive/ frightening ( delete as appropriate !) especially as the main body is a one piece moulding . Great start on the interior ,I see what you mean about the unnecessary pe , the plaque decals dont really need a pe backer .

    I think I've become a collector

Weve all been there miko ( both the modelling slump and the giddy high of buying something !) as mentioned if its not causing a problem then whats the harm . As for the mojo thing , i’m with paul , get a kit thats going to be an easy quick build and just rattle it off , a perfect example for me...

    Eduard 1/48 Lavochkin LA7

Off to a flying start with this , the photo etch provides plenty of bits for the cockpit , most of which I’ll use - daft things like levers that are 1.5 mm long with a contact point of about 2 microns obviously will be ignored ! The main things are the belts and instrument panel and there are a...

    Airbrush newbie

As mentioned try a drop or two of flow improver . Like yourself I spray in a cold outside building , heated up with a halogen heater - I dont think this would cause drying in the cup , unless your diesel heater is getting the temperature really high ! Are you putting the lid on the airbrush ...
