Hi Guys, I've smoothen out the highlights and shadows and gotten the shade right. Also I've given him a five o'clock shadow. The bench work was worked on and the radio equipment received some paint. Touch ups and chipping will be done later after I have painted the other parts of the bench...- rtfoe

Hi Guys, I've started painting the figure... First pass of painting figure. The gloss from the black ink doesn't help with the photo. I have to blend the highlights and shadows in the next step. A coat of flat varnish will make it pop. Cheers, Wabble- rtfoe

Hi, Made some little improvements to the radio pack by adding a phone handle receiver...can't remember what it's called heh heh. Found it in my spares box. I used lead wire for the wire. Cheers, Wabble- rtfoe

Rest my eyes a little and gave his Grand rifle a sling made from thick metal foil and wire. He'll lean his weapon on the side of the bench. Cheers, Wabble- rtfoe

Hi guys, Did the first pass on the base today with paint and caulking. I also primed the bench and lamp post and did some zinathel highlights. Will need detailing the base with grime, moss and rust stains. Also thinking of a bit of rubble on the side and discarded refuse paper and bottles...- rtfoe

Made more progress, base painted the pigeons and cleaned up his Grand rifle but here is a picture of the canteen canvas cover that I just drilled and sculpted with a motor tool... Thanks Tony, Scottie, Andrea and Garry. Yup, that GI is in for a full bombardment. I've done a bit more to the base and fittings... assembled the lamp post. Sanded down all seams. I will create the glass with White Glue after it's painted. I thought of using clear acetate but WG seems a lot...- rtfoe

Got his pose and filled up areas that were missing with putty. The helmet is placed and fixed into position. Started on the pigeons and the clean up of seamlines for all 30 was horrendous for the eyes. Cheers, Wabble- rtfoe

Thoughts on 1/144 scale.
Hi Colin, as mentioned in my earlier post about the possibilities with this scale...here's one I could never do with a 1/48 or even 72 scale... Look forward to seeing your builds here and hope there will be a GB for this scale. Cheers, Richard aka Wabble- rtfoe
