    "Not fit for purpose"

There was mention of those electronic devices for scaring cats away (and politicians) being not fit for purpose. They're not the only things. Take calculators for example. Any sort of calculator - whether it's a purpose built one, or included on your mobile phone or PC/Tablet/Laptop etc. Some...

    'e's done it again

It's been said before, but I'll say it again, our John knows how to run a business. Order placed Sunday night at 17:15, received Tuesday morning at 11:00.

    The other pandemic

Don't get me wrong folks, but up until a few days ago, the last football match I watched all the way through was in 1966. I don't have to tell you what game that was, but as I'm starting to run out of stuff to do 'til I start my meds to get rid of the shakes, I thought I'd have a look at some of...

    The shakes

Hi guys. Just a note to let you know I'm still about. I saw the neurologist about my shaky hands on Tuesday. The good news is that it is essential tremors and not something serious like a tumour or summat. The better news is that he thinks it can be controlled by medication so no nasty surgical...

    Straight lines

Thanks for the replies on this reprisal of my original post. Lots of good advice but none of it is useful until I get my hands to stop shaking. Just to let you know how badly, do any of you remember my "Somewhere in Russia" dio: That river is about 50mm wide and when I tried spreading out the...

    Oh poop!

Just had a letter from my neuro doc about my shakes. The appointment I had for later this month has been postponed until the middle of June. That's another six weeks I gotta wait to find out if he can do anything for me.:unamused:

    So far so good

Had my MRI on Monday and some news - they found what looks like a brain! Maybe it's just a lump of plastic made from sanding dust glued together by cement fumes! Who knows? Gotta wait until the end of April to see what the neuro doc says. PS Anyone who's laid in one of those MRI machines will...

    Caught in the act

My Clyde can't compete with that Tim. Best he's done so far is 2 toy stuffed owls over two nights a few years back, and 7 dead rats in just over a week last month.

    Junk Mail

Is it just me or: Since Jan 1 this year I've had 47 emails supposedly from McAfee or Norton telling me my internet security subscription has expired and my PC is no longer protected. Interesting since I have a paid subscription with AVG (I daresay some of you will recommend others but I'm...

    Stupid stuff

There's a thread on here about stupid stuff we do so you don't have to. You know - lots of interior parts missed out and spilled paint, glue and blood - that kind of stuff. Here's one that someone else has done which drives me to distraction. You all have CD/DVD cases yeah? How many of them...

Tool for accurate cutting of plastic strip??

I use one of these for thin stuff up to about 0.25mm. Not tried it with anything thicker myself, but could be worth trying. Not desperately expensive, you could probably find one for about £15.

    Gern's 1/32 Trumpeter F-105G - A Sad End.

I was hoping to beat you to it Chris! I have made some progress. My wingy thingy now has wings! That's a 12" (300mm) rule. The colour on these looks OK There's a couple of sticky-out bits (technical term) to add, and a smear of filler in the wing joints, but I'm hoping to get on to...

Not the best pictures, but they do show you sometimes can't have enough clamps. Apart from the front part of the cockpit, I think I've got the fuselage seams sorted - primer will show anything I've missed. I've used Tamiya putty for the first time and I'm impressed. It has a much better...

    Alternative to Squadron Green

Hi guys. My tube of Squadron Green is now almost empty so I need to replace it. I bought a tube of the new formula Squadron Green for my grandson some months ago and it's b****y awful stuff. It has the consistency of melted ice cream and zero ability to fill gaps. What's the best alternative...

    Gern's 1/32 Trumpeter F-105G - A Sad End.

Naahh! She'd much prefer RLM 66 mottle if her own attempts at camo are to be believed: One nice thing about my Bonnie, she's really good at telling me what the weather is. The only time she ever has clean feet is if there's rain puddles outside. If she comes in clean but soaking wet, I know...

Sorry for the delay Chris, had some transport problems. I mentioned all the dashboard warnings on my motor were lighting up. Got it to my garage OK, but when he tried to get it into the workshop, it wouldn't start. By the time he got it going, it was the end of the day - and now he's on holiday...
