    What's on the Bench? 2021

I know a lot of people on here don't post their builds, but how about showing what you're building? My current build, a Dragon Panzer IV/70(A), a bit of an old kit, the camouflage is a work in progress.

Graeme's Panzer IV, Simon's memorial build.

Added a few things to the base, tools scattered around as if the crew tried to get the tank back into action, a wheel to replace the damaged one, were they forced to abandon their tank as the enemy closed in?

Graeme's Panzer IV, Simon's memorial build.

I managed to get a bit of bench time & set the panzer on it's base. Sand was put on the base around where the tracks go & soaked with diluted PVA glue, the tank was placed on the base, a screw was put through the base & screwed through the nut glued inside the floor of the tank. There's a bit...

Si, that is looking good, the weathering is nicely done. How about this to keep both Bob & John R happy? Photo for discussion/banter/abuse.....

    Snow joke!

We haven't had much snow here, Allerton Bywater near Leeds, but it's been cold, so cold the canal has frozen to about an inch thick!

Graeme's Panzer IV, Simon's memorial build.

Thanks Bob! A bit of work has been done on a base for the Panzer. It started as a picture frame, the glass removed & the backing glued into the frame. The metal frame painted using dark yellow primer, the sand is, well sand! Dried & sieved, glued using PVA glue diluted with water & a drop or two...

Graeme's Panzer IV, Simon's memorial build.

Back to the tracks, one side done, one to go After a fair amount of fiddling, gluing, swearing etc!

Graeme's Panzer IV, Simon's memorial build.

A bit more progress, weathering the panzer with vallejo model wash, various stains using lifecolour oil & fuel, a bit of chipping, sand/desert dust applied using mig pigments. I've had a bit of fun doing the weathering, it looks a bit stark in the pictures with the flash, but better in natural...

Graeme's Panzer IV, Simon's memorial build.

Thanks Steve, the track links are done! Managed to to a bit more on the panzer, mostly attaching tools & painting small details. The decals are done, a lot of microsol was needed to get the turret numbers to sit down on the turret side vision ports, not the easiest of positions to do.

Graeme's Panzer IV, Simon's memorial build.

Tim & Paul, it's getting there slowly, Thanks! Now I'm cutting the individual links from the sprue & fettling them, half a sprue down, only two & a half more to do....:confounded:

Graeme's Panzer IV, Simon's memorial build.

Thanks Lee! Time for another update, top coat of paint is done, wheels painted & attached, painting the tools is nearly done. The tracks are being painted, but still a lot to do,

Graeme's Panzer IV, Simon's memorial build.

We have top coat on the panzer, Tamiya dark yellow, which looks about right for DAK sand brown. i had to use flash for the photo, which makes it look rather washed out.

Graeme's Panzer IV, Simon's memorial build.

Thanks Lee, having battled with the fiddly etch, we now have paint! Only a coat of primer & plenty more to do.

Graeme's Panzer IV, Simon's memorial build.

As a bit of a break from the etch, I started on the tracks, dragon individual links, a lot of ejector pin marks to fill & sand. I kept them on the sprue for initial painting, few more bit of etch for the tool holders done too.

Graeme's Panzer IV, Simon's memorial build.

Thanks Steve, plenty more to do yet! More small, fiddly bits done, more searching for small pieces of etch on the carpet.... A picture shows the added parts, the tools have been cleaned up & the moulded clamps removed ready for the etch parts. Slight modifications to the jack have been needed...

Some more slow progress with the small details & etch, pictures show it best.
