    Graeme's Dragon Panther D Kursk 1943

A bit more (slow) progress, the camo is finished. The decals took a bit of work, as some of the kit ones were a bit brittle, even with microsol. I had a set suitable in stock & used some of those, next up is to add the tools.

    Graeme's Dragon Panther D Kursk 1943

Rick, Scottie, thanks for the support, as promised, pictures of the camouflage painting so far. It's been airbrushed freehand and needs a bit of tidying with a bit of dunklegelb here & there. The schurtzen keep falling off as they aren't glued, but there will be a few missing on the finished...

    Graeme's Dragon Panther D Kursk 1943

A bit more (slow) progress, tracks weathered, schurtzen brackets are on & schutzen dry fitted, ready for spraying the camouflage pattern.

    Graeme's Dragon Panther D Kursk 1943

Both tracks done! A bit of weathering to do on the tracks yet.

    Graeme's Dragon Panther D Kursk 1943

Time for another progress report, the wheels are on & the tracks on one side have been put on. I discovered that the box of magic tracks don't have enough spares for all the spare tracks on the hull sides, so I will have to use some from the original kit tracks, they aren't as good and have...

The wallet did take a bit of a beating, I only got a few things......

    Graeme's Dragon Panther D Kursk 1943

Time for an update, The magic tracks have been assembled into link & length sections, setting them with the correct sag with the wheels, sprockets & idlers. The tracks were then painted black, with grey metal for the contact surfaces, a brown wash & pigments to weather them. The lower hull &...

Graeme's Tamiya Stug III Ausf G

A small amount of progress, the gun & fighting compartment roof are on, the roof needing a bit of filing & sanding to get it to sit right.

    Graeme's Dragon Panther D Kursk 1943

A bit more has been done, painting tools & small parts. Started to do the tracks, Dragon magic tracks are pretty good, they go together nicely. I'm going to put the wheels & tracks on before I add the schurtzen & their brackets to the hull, so a bit of weathering on the hull sides, wheels &...

Graeme's Tamiya Stug III Ausf G

Thanks Bob, a bit more slow progress, with engine & hull hatches on.

Graeme's Tamiya Stug III Ausf G

Back with a bit more progress, the upper & lower hull are together, with the infill pieces for the fighting compartment made & fitted. The infills took two attempts, they weren't wide enough first time! It's going together as you expect for a Tamiya kit, but I'm sure the add on bits will bite me...

Graeme's Tamiya Stug III Ausf G

Good to have you along Steve, progress may be a bit slow, I'm trying to get the Panther for the animal antics GB done at the same time. A little progress, the bits round the rear hull have had a bit of work, the hull rear is on. The PE set has the exhaust guards & deflector, which were a bit...

    Graeme's Dragon Panther D Kursk 1943

Not much done this week, back at work (boo), tyres painted, but that's about it.

    Graeme's Dragon Panther D Kursk 1943

A couple of pictures of the Panther with the first top coat on. A bit more needed especially on the turret & the wheels.

Graeme's Tamiya Stug III Ausf G

After one evenings work, I have a hull with suspension, a pile of wheels, idlers, rollers & sprockets. Oh and a gun mount...

Graeme's Tamiya Stug III Ausf G

Here's my entry for the Stug GB, as the title says a Tamiya Stug III ausf G, with metal barrel, photo etch parts & schurtzen. The idea is to build it as an abandoned one, like the one pictured below (photo for discussion purposes only), which was, I believe in Italy being looked over by a...

    Graeme's Dragon Panther D Kursk 1943

The Panther is now almost ready for paint, tool racks & other fiddly bits added. Various bits of photo etch, such as the engine grills, not to mention the many wheels which made the Panther a pain to maintain in the field.

    Graeme's Dragon Panther D Kursk 1943

Thanks Guys! A bit more progress, a Panzer art cupola has been used, better than the kit part, which went together nicely despite me cutting one of the vision blocks in half while removing it from it's casting block.....:rolling: Still it looks ok despite the extra gluing.

    Graeme's Dragon Panther D Kursk 1943

A bit more progress, the Mig fan covers have been sanded to remove the casting blocks, this was done with care & a dust mask, as the resin is rather hazardous to health. They were placed on a sheet of sandpaper & rubbed across it until they were down to the engine deck. The Mig fan covers are...

Which model gave you most satisfaction in 2019?

Some Great builds there guys. Mine has to be the Tamiya Sdkfz234/2 Puma built for the recon GB, I haven't finished anything else due to a house move & life in general!
