FDM PLA 3D printing - with a model making inclination

a 1/35 Culin Hedgerow cutter for a Sherman - probably a bit too neat! These things were knocked together in Field Workshops from German beach defences ( or so I read ). A weird alternative fir the Sherman, instead of the Calliope - the Whizbang - actually saw ( limited ) combat That's...

FDM PLA 3D printing - with a model making inclination

I printed a 1/72 A7V - I'd had enough of the black PLA - it's gone back into storage with its' companion, the silica gel pouch and back to a neutral grey & how much better it looks! CA1 Schneider in 1/72 - The St Chamond is printng now Dave

    Hobarts' Funnies

Photos of the armoured bulldozers are few & far between, D6, D7 & D8 are quoted as the base vehicle, but no two 'dozers look the same - I've said 'D8' for my print, as that was what the original file was labelled as! Apart from the MiniArt part armoured D7, the only other model I could...

Two more: D8 ArmouredTractor LVT-4 - Still have to work out which armament to fit. This black PLA does not photograph well - I've got some grey PLA for when the black runs out. I was looking for a Sherman DD - oddly I can't find a decent one! The best one has a collapsed flotation...

This reached the top of the queue....................... 1/72.......................... And this is the result of a 14hr+ overnight print - still in 1/72 - it will need careful clean up The file is meant to be a resin print, but I gave it a go with FDM, and using organic supports. I was...

M29 Weasel at 1/72 I think that it's about as small as I can go - I might try a 0.3mm nozzle, but I haven't had much success with that Dave

FDM PLA 3D printing - with a model making inclination

Some more unusual vehicles, all in 1/72 Churchill 3" Gun Carrier Centurion AVRE Centurion ARV All modern tanks seem to have really small fittings, which are really difficult to print by FDM - and as soon as I see 'slat armour' - forget it ( in 1/72 at least ) Dave

All in 1/72........................... AVRE with Log Carpet bracket AVRE with wading ducts Terrapin - needs addition of prominent pipes ( too fragile to print! ) I also have files for a Weasel & LVT, also used by 79th Division - I do have a Sherman Crab, but the chains look very...

Universal Carrier - Wasp II in 1/72 I think I've reached the smallest I can achieve with FDM .......................and yes, I still have failures - this is the 3rd and final attempt to print this 1/72 Rolls Royce armoued car 1914 - not possible with my FDM printer - the front mudguards...
