    Iwo Jima 1-32 Scale

Hi Neil, Just spotted this comment about the grenade....don't know if this helps, but it will give you an idea as to size.

Rick's 1-87 Scale Luftwaffe Phanomen Granit 25H Ambulance

Would that were true Mr. Marlow. another glaring discrepancy to be dealt with....I haven't mentioned it before because I was hoping someone would notice. Keen eye Sir! I do have a remedy but it will take place later on in the build, just before paint flies. I have a set of Archer water slide...

Rick's 1-87 Scale Luftwaffe Phanomen Granit 25H Ambulance

Well, it had to happen sooner or later...........I am beginning to find all the little inaccuracies in this now, less than "perfect" resin model. The bulkhead between the driver's seat and casualty compartment was hollow at the base. This would stick out like a sore thumb when viewed from the...

    Latest Acquisitions (2023)

A recent purchase from evilbay.......hard to find these guys so grab 'em when I can, even better when the seller accepts yer lowball offer. :thumb2:

    Iwo Jima 1-32 Scale

Hi Neil, Well for a first article it looks pretty good.....I did notice the "obvious" discrepancies as you did, I don't know if you are aware of this or not, but thought I would mention it and let you decide if you want to make changes or not. The Marine is equipped with an M1 Carbine that has...

Rick's 1-87 Scale Luftwaffe Phanomen Granit 25H Ambulance

Exhausting effort on the doors got me prepared for the "Real" exhaust so this is now scratched off the list of "to do" items Still a long way to go.

Rick's 1-87 Scale Luftwaffe Phanomen Granit 25H Ambulance

Thanks Tim, I found this pic on the i-net and it will be the guide that I'll work to for building up the interior elements of the model. Sorta a one page wordless destruction sheet......it's about all you get in this scale so am happy to get it for reference.

Rick's 1-87 Scale Luftwaffe Phanomen Granit 25H Ambulance

Last update of the Day (Evening for most of you).....Doors have been successfully separated and a test fit revealed a better than expected result. :thumb2:

Rick's 1-87 Scale Luftwaffe Phanomen Granit 25H Ambulance

Here's the latest.......I wasn't sure about this when I started this project, because the whole thing depends on getting the ambulance rear doors opened up to load casualties onto the JU to get 'em out of "Dodge". So I set to work with just a little more than trepidation. Using the old...

Rick's 1-87 Scale Luftwaffe Phanomen Granit 25H Ambulance

Howdy, I used some .010X.018 inch brass and formed some support straps for the underside of my newly resurfaced running board.....stiffened it right up. etched brass safety tread will not be necessary, I checked my reference material and it wasn't present on the original so it's good to go...

Rick's 1-87 Scale Luftwaffe Fuel Truck Completed

Thank you Mick and Garry....just having fun, glad you like it. here's a quick snap of its intended purpose.

Rick's 1-87 Scale Luftwaffe Phanomen Granit 25H Ambulance

And here's the first update....the driver's side running board is the product of a stingy pour. it came out about .005 inch thinner than its opposite. built up with a strip of .005 styrene and CA to hold . when this has set up I will be adding styrene underbracing to both running boards and...

Rick's 1-87 Scale Luftwaffe Phanomen Granit 25H Ambulance

I forgot to give the relative size comparison.......turns out it's just under 2.5 inches long or able to leap tall Vallejo bottles in a single bound!! ;)

Rick's 1-87 Scale Luftwaffe Phanomen Granit 25H Ambulance

Having finished the Airfield Tanker, it's time to turn my full attention to this little "Beauty" of a resin Kit......never thought I'd say that, and it may be short lived. We'll see how this goes....since it is going to require modification instead of just building it OOB. Once I have cleaned...

Rick's 1-87 Scale Luftwaffe Fuel Truck Completed

This was a fun project and it should work nicely on my upcoming Diorama. Now that I have loaded the pics. I see a couple of things that need touching up in the cab...enjoy.

    What's on the Bench 2023

So this is currently on the bench and I think I'll start a build thread on this little beauty. This is the cleanest cast resin kit I have ever seen in 1-87 scale. Wall thickness is very thin for the scale and the surfaces ae so smooth I thought it was a styrene kit when I first opened it. Tip...

Rick's 1-87 Scale Luftwaffe Airfield Fuel Tanker

This is by no means finished but I just wanted to post up the detail painting and weather progress so far.....will not get a chance to later as otherwise occupied. Pete Lowe loaned me one of his helpers to get this crate finished up ;)

Rick's 1-87 Scale Luftwaffe Airfield Fuel Tanker

As promised, here are a couple of pics. with the grey on and I couldn't help spinning the wheels on my moto tool and applying the tire color.....easy peasy! that little blob of putty will be dry soon and I'll repaint the top and it's all detail and weathering from here on. Oops, missed a seam...

Rick's 1-87 Scale Luftwaffe Airfield Fuel Tanker

Well here is the last update before paint flies......wipers installed, added rear license plate with a tail light stem, added the tow hitch, drilled out the headlight buckets for lenses and as a final touch, I bent the front axle to give the appearance of the wheels turned slightly to the...
