After a brief visit from the Geek I am back in action.....Decals on and cargo doors hung and fixed in place. Need to install the cockpit glass, tidy up some paint and maybe some light weathering and "Big Bird" will be done.- Mini Me

Just realized I hadn't posted a pic. of the box art for this crummy model.....also I'm kind of at a stopping point till the rest of the decals arrive.....ROCO in its infinite wisdom, has also chosen to ignore "History" and kindly removed the Swastika tail markings so the world would know of...- Mini Me

What's on the Bench 2023
After the decal work on the fuel truck, trailer and jeep I've been having a look at how this is all going to look on the dio. Still have all the figs. to paint up and then stage the scene. I am not taken with the runway surface and will be trying a different topping.- Mini Me

HOBNOBS on the Hoof!
Well I did it. Finally got around to trying the recipe I found on line. First batch just out of the oven and second batch in the oven. If anyone has ever made these up at home, they'll know what I'm talking about when I say....."Gooey little Buggers"! ;) Can't wait to try one but have been... -

Here are the final renditions......decaling is complete and all are flat finished, window glass is next and finally weathering. Can't say enough about this Krylon rattle can flat coat....dry to the touch in 10 minutes and can be handled in 1 hour. And Cheap......around $6.00 for an 11 oz. (net)...- Mini Me

I got the underside of the wings and fuselage shot with Duck Egg Blue. Tomorrow I'll get the topside shot in one of them Luftwaffe gray colors or RLM somethingorother.....I know a lot of these birds were all white with red crosses......boring. Been awhile since my last update.......not much to report. There is so much wrong with this kit I keep going backwards. I found great big lips on all three engine cowls and got those filled and sanded, along with all the joints on the #2 engine exhaust. Finished the upper cargo door and test...- Mini Me

So here's the latest, I have used the removed plug to fabricate the upper cargo door as the back side will be visible from the other side of this bird....the bottom door will be scratched later from strip styrene as it won't be visible from the bottom unless you pick this thing up....going on a...- Mini Me

I got the rest of the floor in ( all that I'm going to do anyway) and all the support bulkheads in place (aft) the forward cabin divider is in place and you can make out where the casualties will be "racked" up on either side. Not a lot done on this......once I figure out the bulkheads and cargo doors, I'll get the underside of the fuselage glued in place and then squirt some paint on the interior that will be visible from the open doors.- Mini Me

German grey. + Whitewash.
If you are looking for a worn effect Ian, you want some of the wash to stay on the vehicle....gloss coat will not give you the transitional tones required to make it look effectively worn. I went over my pz. grey base with the Vallejo foundation white. I let it set a few minutes then started...- Mini Me

What's on the bench 2022
Painted and detailed these Opels, made some tarps out of single ply Kleenex tissue.....first attempt with this stuff. I normally use tissue for wrapping gifts.....it too is single ply but much thicker and not as absorbent as Kleenex. With the Kleenex, you can achieve a more "relaxed" look but...- Mini Me
