Spanner's Revell 1/72 Dam Buster Lancaster. 1958 tooling.

Thanks for the input Paul and Tony. Second go....and onwards with the 'Cunning Plan'1 The outline of the dam looks a bit wonky. This is due to the paper I painted the dam on warping a bit. a good ironing will sort things out - If I knew how to use one, that is! Before it gets too warm today...

Spanner's Revell 1/72 Dam Buster Lancaster. 1958 tooling.

Thanks chaps... I've started work on the dam and its surroundings. I penciled the shape and then painted the dam on a length of card, cut out the outline and overflow openings etc, and then rested it in front of a large piece of black card. This image is obviously way too light. I'll see how...

Spanner's Revell 1/72 Dam Buster Lancaster. 1958 tooling.

Thanks Steve. I'll need all the luck I can muster! Update..... The aircraft is now finished. Please note, there are decals I've omitted, some seams could be better. The list is a long one, but as most shots will be in dark or semi dark, all short comings should be hidden from prying eyes and...

    Peek 'a Boo!........A 1/72 Lancaster Bomber

Thanks boys. I know the colours and detailing are not accurate, but I had me some fun tackling it..... As an aside, which I forgot to mention, I made up the pilot's harness out of strips of thin paper, painted beige. (Think saving wonga for 'Beer Tokens') Also, compared with my B-17, it was a...

    Peek 'a Boo!........A 1/72 Lancaster Bomber

Here's my attempt at a 'cut out' 1/72 Lancaster Bomber. i think it's the Airfix B-111 version (Box slung!) Unlike the B-17 I did in similar fashion, there is now't to expose aft of the cockpit. Cheeres. Ron

'Pharos' A 1/200 card model ship. (Peter's Injection free G.B,2024)

Cheers Mick. Why I subject myself to these things is beyond me, and yet they have a certain grip on you once you have a go at one..... Update... The main rear viewing bridge. I cut out the card windows and stuck some clear plastic to the inside. All a bit wonky just yet, but things...

'Pharos' A 1/200 card model ship. (Peter's Injection free G.B,2024)

Next level. Card cut outs of heli-deck ready to glue together. Some larger areas on these card models need a bit of thickening to prevent dips in the deck areas. Scrap card glued in place. Ready to glue in. Note the turned down tabs. A bit more scrap card reinforcing. Deck glued on...

    ICM Spitfire beer delivery

Excellent build so far, mucker.... After your awful attempt at a funny 'Beery' intro ;) I trust you have this..... Sorry, can't afford to switch on the iron! Cheers from over the 'Great Divide'

'Pharos' A 1/200 card model ship. (Peter's Injection free G.B,2024)

Thanks for the encouraging comment and I apologise for my long delayed replies. Sorry boys..... Long delayed update too.... I decided to cut out all the windows. ...and replace with clear plastic to try and replicate window glass. Glued on to the lower level deck. Note the bow helipad...

What flew over your house today... or yesterday... v2.0

Just flown over. They stayed the night at Aerospace Broughton nr. Chester. Lancasters were made there during WW2. Heard them coming and I near broke my neck coming down from my den! Should be reasonable images zoomed in...... Ron

    Revell Miniship 1/1200 Yamato.

Cheers, chaps.... Thank you for the nice posts. Dave, no missus guest appearance for this one. I just held onto the aircraft's wing tips. She said she could never go chucking in a half a**ed manner! Good fun builds, these diddy ships. Yet they still require a bit of fettling. The major fault...

    Revell Miniship 1/1200 Yamato.

This another of the Revell 1/1200 Miniship series. Probably one of the best where detail is concerned. All brush painted. Under attack. She eventually sunk by U.S Navy fighter bombers and torpedo aircraft. A bit of forced perspective using a couple of 1/72 U.S. Navy...

Spanner's Revell 1/72 Dam Buster Lancaster. 1958 tooling.

Thanks Tony. Update. I've joined the two halves of the fuselage together. Prop. blades cut off too. Please don't look closely at the ham fisted joints and the like. It'll be dark! The very old decals were almost worse than useless, they all collapsed into 'Millions' of bits! I've stuck them...

    BoB GB proposal idea

I'm in and thanks to Paul for suggesting and running this G.B.... I always try and go off on a bit of a tangent with G.B.'s, and this build will be no exception. ;) The model. Cheers. Ron

Spanner's Revell 1/72 Dam Buster Lancaster. 1958 tooling.

Thanks boys... Lighting rigged up and two holes drilled into the fuselage belly. Bit of a jumble, but the set up is only of a temporary nature because once I've taken pictures of the night time stuff, I need to take the aircraft apart. The silicone blobs are the two LED spotlights. The tiny...

Revell 1/1200 Miniship Heavy Cruiser Prinz Eugen.

Prinz Eugen These are great little ships. Tiny, but with plenty of detail for their size. With a bit of patience and a fair amount of work, the series make up into very acceptable models and are great fun to build. Certainly not to be binned once completed..... All freehand brush painted...

Spanner's Revell 1/72 Dam Buster Lancaster. 1958 tooling.

The green, applied earlier has dried just nice in hardly any time, so after marking the camo. lines with a pencil, I've pushed on and brushed on the brown. Having been close up and personal to a Lancaster, I prefer a soft, rather than hard line to the two colours. i haven't been too fussy when...

Spanner's Revell 1/72 Dam Buster Lancaster. 1958 tooling.

Thanks Steve. If you pardon the pun 'I'm winging this all the way'! i simply haven't a clue how things will turn out.....So 'Interesting' it should be! I've brushed on the green and matt black. I will complete painting the various large bits separately. Then glue the lot together at the last...

Spanner's Revell 1/72 Dam Buster Lancaster. 1958 tooling.

Thanks for the comments chaps. Thanks to the generosity and ingenuity when it comes to lighting things up of our good buddy boatman (Chris), I am now able to proceed cautiously with this 'project' Please understand, the aircraft build is secondary to my feeble attempts at trying to produce...
