Here's my attempt at a 'cut out' 1/72 Lancaster Bomber. i think it's the Airfix B-111 version (Box slung!)

Unlike the B-17 I did in similar fashion, there is now't to expose aft of the cockpit.

Very nice Ron. You have to just love a cut away model. I wondered where this build had disappeared too. Nice to see it come to completion.

Thanks for the positive comments chaps! :D

I'm afraid I tend to wander from one build to another. Stops me getting a bit stale, hence this one's prolonged absence.

Also, a bit of change from the norm.(Keeps me on my toes too)

The hardest part in the exercise is cutting the rather fragile clear plastic - One false move and the job is ruined.....

Thanks again.

Yes i will join you on the meandering from build to build. On the way back from a show yesterday we were discussing our modelling habits and lack of finishing kits.We tended to agree that too large stashes tend to overwhelm many and to just have never more then a couple of dozen kits.Yes i do feel overwhelmed and gets bits stressful but we have to have some enjoyment.

Thanks boys.

I know the colours and detailing are not accurate, but I had me some fun tackling it.....

As an aside, which I forgot to mention, I made up the pilot's harness out of strips of thin paper, painted beige. (Think saving wonga for 'Beer Tokens')

Also, compared with my B-17, it was a relatively spartan interior to cope with.

Thanks again for your most excellent comments.

Cheers.

I say old chap, that's rather spiffing!

That's pretty special Ron. Great job.
Here's an inspiration for you..... IMG_20250623_123540952.jpg full size centurion (or chieftain, I can never remember which is which) at Bovington

Great idea Ron 😊

It always seems a shame to hide away all the detail modern aircraft kits pack in.

Geoff.

Great work and idea Ron, there's much to look at in there. Also good to see a Lancaster pass a finish line 😀

Thanks for the nice feedback chaps.
Thanks too to Neil for the great cutaway tank picture. Way beyond my skills, but someone might have a stab at it.....

I really can't get my head around why kits (Especially aircraft) have such detailed interiors. Only to have most of it completely out of sight after 'Buttoning things up'
Perhaps I'm getting lazy and a bit cynical in my dotage.

Joe, any sign of your Lancaster decals yet?

Thanks again all for your comments.

Ron

Another cracker Ron!

Betcha I'm confused, but wasn't you doin' a Dambusters Lanc build recently?
