    BanDai Sprukits Master Chief

After a couple hours building the figures completed, I really like how these things are engineered. Time for him to wait in line now as I might do some painting on him.

    BanDai Sprukits Master Chief

A quick oob kit while I’m trying to paint the Ferret. For gamers and sci-fi film watchers this figure will be recognisable. This is a click together kit and no paint, I think . Lovely moulding and the tiniest gates connecting to the sprues. Here’s the pics.

Airfix 1/35 Ferret scout car Mk2

Build section now completed, a few parts including the wheels just placed on. I recommend chucking one in your stash as it’s a great little kit. Hoping to get it into undercoat in the next few days.

Airfix 1/35 Ferret scout car Mk2

Skipped ahead a bit and built the turret as there are lots of parts to paint before fitting.

Airfix 1/35 Ferret scout car Mk2

As the majority of this will not be seen thought I’d record it for posterity.

Airfix 1/35 Ferret scout car Mk2

End of play for today. Really enjoying this build, wheels are just bluetacked on for now.

    Latest Acquisitions (2023)

My victim for a new year build. My second Scania but this one will be converted to right hand drive and a different colour scheme

Airfix 1/35 Ferret scout car Mk2

Making more progress, on with the suspension. 10 parts per unit. Quite a weighty little thing too, nice and solid.

Airfix 1/35 Ferret scout car Mk2

More progress and pics. So far nicely engineered and going together very nicely. Hopefully someone will do the internals for this kit.

Airfix 1/35 Ferret scout car Mk2

An oob build and probably buttoned up too as there’s not much interior detail. I think I’m going to go with one of the two colour schemes I’ve pictured but yet to decide. Here’s the sprue pics.

Mick’s 1/48 Yak-1 Karl & Andrew Soviet wingy thing GB

Thwarted by the weather today, I would have had proper snow storms photographing outside so these will have to do. Enjoyed this one, vague instructions and not a comprehensive painting guide but that’s all part of the fun.

    Mickc’s 1/48 Academy Yak-1

Not forgotten this one but work got in the way. Another clear coat applied ready for a bit of weathering and started on a base. As I was attaching the last few pieces, the separate exhausts, one of the smallest pinged off into space shouting it’s goodbyes as it disappeared. I managed to make one...

    Latest Acquisitions (2023)

As I’m used to building aircraft with lots going off in the cockpit the Sopwith Camel is definitely a little sparse on the inside so I’ve got a few bits to bling it up a bit. I’ve got a new instrument panel, new seat with cushions and some new machine guns.

    Ferret

Another couple of pics from the same time I thought you might like to see. In the first pic I can more clearly see how the 46 badge is painted.

    Ferret

I’m hoping for some help from the forum regarding this picture and my next build. When my Russian aircraft is finished I will be starting on the Airfix Ferret. The pic is of my dad when on active service in Cyprus with the household cavalry. I’m guessing their vehicles are painted white as a...

    Mickc’s 1/48 Academy Yak-1

First white coat applied, hopefully tomorrow I'll get some masking done

    Anybody who can identify these?

I really enjoy painting them and have my own variation on the colour scheme, just finished this one, the army leader.

    Papa695s let’s build a bi-plane.

This will be my two wingy stringy thingy. Looks like a nice straight forward build, then there's the knitting :surprised: They supply the stringy stuff and there are locating holes where it has to go.

    Mickc’s 1/48 Academy Yak-1

Bit more progress made. The instructions are a little vague in places and some steps in the wrong order, like masking up the tail light that doesn’t get fitted yet but it is what it is and that’s why we enjoy this hobby. Pilot is nearly finished as is the cockpit. Can’t remember the last time I...
