    Eduard 1:72 Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat

Well this little build started with the wife telling she out on Friday night, also busy on Saturday and out with dau no.1 on Sunday. Brilliant, perfect for a nice little build. And here it is. This has been waiting to see some daylight for a few years now. Actually, if the Cosford posse...

    Latest Acquisitions (2024)

I've bought something really old. I saw this going for an ok price (inc P&P) I've always fancied one and with next years 'Build an old Airfix GB' I went for it. New tool in 1968, same as me !

Gloster Javelin FAW 9/9R Airfix 1:48

I've built a thing. I started this a while ago, then, breaking all my rules of modelling, the 'One thing at a time on the bench ' rule, I got distracted by two group builds and a new tool Airfix Bulldog. But anyway, here I am, finished. The Airfix 1:48 Gloster Javelin. A very nice kit. There's a...

    Anti virus software

Ok, I'm maybe being a bit tight here, but what free antivirus software do you recommend ? I've used avira for quite a while, but recently, it is forever popping up to try and flog me something. Time for a change.

    What's on the Bench 2024

This is all you’re getting just now, you’ll have to have a bit of a guess. Except to say, it carries four firestreak missiles.

    Hawker Tempest MkV Eduard 1:48

What great luck, a wet Sunday. The garage was tidy, as was the shed, so the only thing left to do, finish the Tempest. JN571, was the aircraft of Wg Cdr Ronald P. Beaumont DSO, DFC & bar, CO of 150 Wing, Newchurch, June 1944. 150 Wing task at the time of the invasion of Europe was to provide air...

    Colin M’s Eduard’s 1:48 Tempest Mk V

Thank you all for hanging on in there with me. I’m not actually sure if the GB has come to an end, but I am plodding on. This is why I don’t often build much in the summer months, normal life is too busy. I’ve done a bit more. D-day markings are all sprayed up. It wasn’t much fun masking a...

    Masking cockpit techniques

I can take days to mask a canopy - because it really can be a bit tedious. I do use masks, but also cut my own think strips for following the edges of the glass. Then I do a bit at a time. This is part of a B36, that certainly did take days .

Looks like a model scene, but isn't. Time lapse video.

In the original post, linking to this video, the OP does point out that this is a time lapse video. The style of videoing just makes everything look like an animated model. But it's all very real.

    Colin M’s Eduard’s 1:48 Tempest Mk V

It’s been a while, but I’ve managed to do a bit more. It looks Tempest ish now. A few other bits and pieces have been sprayed ready for fitting. Now I just need a bit of camouflage.

Oh, so Singer has moved on then ? This is what I remember. I used to 'storm' it with my soldiers.

    Colin M’s Eduard’s 1:48 Tempest Mk V

Well now, was I saying how great Eduard kits are ? I don’t know what went wrong here, but the lower wing doesn’t fit. There seems to be a problem with the air intake assembly fouling the wing. I can’t see what I’ve done wrong as the assembly is quite straightforward. Anyway, a bit of butchery...

What flew over your house (yesterday)

You’ll be getting bored of me. And now a Catalina. I was a bit quicker with the phone this time.
