    Trumpeter 1/32 Me 262 A2-a

Thanks guys for all your compliments. Tony here's some shots of the lighting equipment and camera settings I use. To be honest I have every thing set on auto as regards to light balance that's auto too. What I tend to do is open the images in preview on my iMac and adjust the setting there. I...

    Trumpeter 1/32 Me 262 A2-a

This has been a joy to build with no issues, even the decals didn't let me down. Built straight out of the box as the kit came with white metal undercart and PE belts. Thanks everyone for following the build. All comments welcome.

Well over the last few days, having sprayed a coat of Klear, I have been laying the decals down and to my amazement they have all stayed in one piece despite being very fragile. Red bands have been added to the Jumos, tail fin and nose cone. I've just applied a second coat of Klear in readiness...

    Trumpeter 1/32 Me262 A-2a

The camo is now complete no real issues there. I've just the red band on the tail fin around the front of the Jumos to add. The next step will be to spray a coat of Klear before I apply the decals. The only potential problem is Trumpeter decals just fall apart we'll see what happens it could be...

    Trumpeter 1/32 Me262 A-2a

Yesterday I sprayed the whole plane in RLM 76 and today I have started on the camo firstly I rolling out the blutac into long worms and the applied them to the wing. Then I have sprayed RLM 81,82 in a sort of blotchy pattern. Finally I carefully pealed off the blutac it only left a few areas...

I've managed to fix all the hatches down and hopefully it looks ok? Front and rear sections of the canopy are now in situ, masked and sprayed withRLM 66. This afternoon I have sprayed the model with Vallejo black surface primmer. Once dry overnight I will then spray the whole model with RLM 76...

    removing Klear from canopy parts

So far I have tried soaking the canopy in a new pot of Klear overnight. Then washing it off. This didn't seem to work. So I tried using airbrush cleaning fluid with a cotton bud with no luck and finally with lens cleaning wipes which are alcohol based. Finally I re-dipped in Klear. The front and...

    removing Klear from canopy parts

Hi all I just dipped my canopy for the Me 262 in Klear(the new stuff that's not clear) my jar must be contaminated with dust and debris so the canopy has now got dust particles all over it. My question is how do you remove the Klear once dry and start again. I have tried re-dipping but that...

Well we're almost a week on and I have been progressing but not had time to post. The fuselage is together some re-scribing will be required due to the fact there's a lot of detail close to the seams. Nose cone fit is not great gaps on either side. There's the same issue with the gun bay doors I...

    Trumpeter 1/32 Me262 A-2a

I've been working on the Jumo engines for the last few days which are highly detailed. I built one completely and sprayed and weathered it too. But on attempting to fit into the engine cowling it proved too bulky and prevented them closing . So I have used the rear section which fits fine and...

Barry, thanks for the heads up on the wings/fuselage fit. Just taken these photos and I can't see any real step. Also as a side note is this going to be a tail sitter?

Cockpit tub is now complete p.e belts fitted. Only gunsight glass to add. The sight is only a dry fit at the moment so will sort later less likely to get broken:rolling:. Fuselage radio and battery painted and weathered. Gun bay completed. I'm in the process of constructing the wings so things...

Al I was thinking of the Revell version my self but then realised I had this in my stash. I've Been busy with all the sub assemblies and there are plenty. This is the point I'm up to now. Cockpit is RLM 66, bulkheads, fuselage halves RLM02 and gun bays silver. Still some more weathering to do...

Trumpeter 1/32 US Navy SBD-5/A-24B" Dauntless"

Thanks fore the comments Guys. Barry I've attached a couple of photos of the hanging tail sections. All I've done is used a loop of fishing line wrapped it round the tail section and tied it off. The picture hook is a standard hook but the pin is extra long 4cm. The set I bought either from...

Jim I bought this a few years back when Modelzone was still around and I think it was the point when they were going under hence the price reduction. Anyway I have used Vallejo black surface primer on the cockpit interior and bulkheads and will follow up with RLM 66 and 02. The undercarriage and...

Well as promised I managed to take some photos over the W/E. I started this build back in 2014 and last worked on it in 2016 finally picking it up again at the beginning of May. As far as I can remember there were no build issues the only thing that let it down was the decals which just fell...
